I haven't got mine yet so all I got is pictures to look at for a while, so how many KTM riders we got on the forum?

It's funny when I owned a 1st generation 990 Superduke you hardly ever saw another KTM when out on a ride, these days you see loads on the road, they have certainly established themselves in the market.

As a side story, the day the photo was taken, I had been pulled after overtaking an unmarked Police Skoda Octavia RS (they had only just started using them in Hampshire then) o_O. He had been driving like Miss Daisy up until the point I pulled out to overtake, then sped up, I just thought I had a dickhead being an arse! So I fooked off into the blue yonder at pace then wondered why my mates hadn't caught up, slowed down a few miles later & saw the RS complete with blue lights on still chasing me down, there is little point in trying to run as they all have onboard video. Twat reported me for 84mph in a 60 (reckoned that was the only time he got a clear fix on me as very twisty road), overtaking on double whites & driving without due care. :poop:

I had a similar experience in Leicester nearly 30 years ago. On my way to work (late as usual) I overtook an unmarked police car in traffic, and a little while later they pulled me over, they got me for speeding, overtaking on a zebra crossing and going through a red light, they told me the three offences also equalling driving without due care  - I don't know what happened to the speeding but that somehow got dropped, I pleaded guilty to the overtaking on crossing, and I pleaded not guilty to the red light as I still to this day swear it was amber. I put in a plea of mitigation for the over taking on zebra crossing, stating the traffic was queued and stationary and being on a bike I was high up and had a good view of both side of the crossing, and much to my suprise I was not penalised for that. However even though the police has stated they were following about 10 yards behind me, and I argued that the lights were on a crossroads where I was turning right, it was morning rush hour traffic in the city center, and the police had no lights or siren on, so if the light was red how could they have followed me through without endangering other road users? 🤔 - Got 3 points and a fine for that, but I considered myself very luck to get away with just that :)

Long story but was on for a ban if convicted of all 3 so got a brief to have a look at the case for my prior to going to court as when the copper played the video back to me at the time it would only play at fast forward speed, I mentioned this at the time commenting that it was bound to look fast then and is there something wrong with the equipment?
My brief requested the video evidence & for proof that the equipment was working correctly, it wasn't given, we turned up in court & the Magistrates were told that we had requested this but it hadn't been supplied, they threw out the charges that relied on that evidence leaving me with a speeding, 5 points & £300 in fines, so was a bit of a result.

The Svartpilen is a bit better to my eye but it still looks like a confused mass of odds and ends around the engine area. A bit like an HR Geiger drawing. And both designs just look somewhat confused and overcomplicated with bits and bobs all jammed in without looking as if they were designed to all fit together. By contrast the Speed triples and other older naked bikes looks much cleaner and simply more together as if everything was designed specifically to fit neatly into the whole.
