Anyone know why Drew Pritchard doesn't sound Welsh?

A bit of a daft question but I wonder if anyone has an answer.

When I am bored and there's nothing else on I have been known to watch 'Salvage Hunters' and it has always puzzled me that the main guy on the show, Drew Pritchard, is said to be born and bred in Wales and yet I can't hear anything that I would call a Welsh accent.

Most of the North wales coast, Bangor down to Flint via Rhyl , LLandudno , Prestatyn and Colwyn Bay etc got invaded by Mancunians , scousers , Brummies and people from Stoke on trent about 40 or 50 years ago wanting to live there due to happy childhood holiday memories so all the accents along the coast sound like any working belt English town , incidently Drew Pritchard has been banned from every pub in his home town of colwyn bay , dont know why sorry the newspaper didnt say so i can only assume he is as big a prick in real life as he appears on the telly

There's a suggestion that he was involved in a brawl after a six nations match between Wales and Ireland.

Thanks @Flynnt20 I thought it might be something like that. Apparently the pub ban, and his divorce from his missus is because he was winding up a guy in the pub about how he was doing the guy's missus on a regular basis and the guy walloped him one. Supposedly he had a number of women he was seeing and the guy's wife was threatening to go to the papers having found out she wasn't his only bit on the side.

Why would anyone allow themselves to be identified as Welsh. When they can pretend to be English & save copious amounts of ridicule?
