What does woke mean to you?

I suspect that a heterosexual attraction is far more complex

I beg to differ on that point, Marty: I think one of the facts that rips so many gay men (and women) apart inside IS the fact, that their psychological approach (all the points you shared) are part of their being; as it is of most heterosexual folks.
Being drawn towards the same gender does not exclude you from the desire to have a functioning family, kids etc. but since the basic situation is quite un-normal (and I agree it is) all those things are out of reach. Nevertheless they are still part of most human beings (except for some psychopaths maybe)…

To cope with realizing and admitting to yourself all the things you will miss out on in your life hurts big time. Do not let any rainbow-warrior tell you different. For most of them all that happy-go-lucky-appearance is nothing but camouflage.

Personally I think your a good man..All joking aside..
You got a good idea about who I am...
I want to say something and I don't mind who reads it and everyone is entitled to there opinion...
It's not about hating anyone for anything whether it's all the crap I hear all the time..
Racist bigot misogynist homophobic blah blah blah...
@Capt. Drunkey not everyone on the so called right wing is what you think...
They ain't out to exterminate anyone and certainly ain't got intentions on a pure Aryan race ...
Sure you got knuckle dragging neanderthal idiots that try to attach themselves to what is called and labelled right wing...
It's all bollox..
It's basically about good family values and holding on to traditional and cultural aspects of who everyone is regardless of nationality you should remember who you are and all those that paved the way so you can be who you are today..
Without men and women and I stress the point men and women that have fought hard in both civil and British Armed Forces...We could not be who we are..
@Capt. Drunkey

I'm gonna make it a mission this year probably may when I got my annual two weeks leave to come and meet you...
I think your gonna have everything you think you know about the so called right wing challenged beyond most people's concept..
Your gonna meet The Duck 🦆
As @DD67 pointed out: me using the word fascism does not lean to the far right wing at all. For me, it is a word like ”totalitarian”, see?
And this is exactly, why I used it in our context of the woke-movement: They all claim to be progressive, tolerant, liberal and social people while at the same time their actions and laws prove them wrong all the time!
Prohibitions and radical encroachments in our social lives are their natural way of trying to force their ideas upon us. And I am sick and tired of it.

When I started to form political opinions in my early teens, I tended to lean toward the left-wing-parties since the right, and far-right in Germany seemed so unnaturally stuffy and counterproductive to progress and freedom.
Nowadays I still hold the same personal values but had to watch how in a strange kind of way, left and right swapped places or just simply mixed up to an ugly broths that leads to nothing but more power for them in the end.

So I guess, we are closer in our everyday-live political approach, than you think…

Probably no need for me to say this but just putting it out there so you folks know, I don't find Gay or Lesbian couples offensive or stomach turning.. wouldn't watch a film with that sort of content or attend a pride march or party but that's me, I have Lesbian and Gay friends (who anyone would be hard pressed to identify as Gay unless they spent time with them ) and my second eldest son has a Gay Godfather who is such a sound and honest person who I could rely on in any situation. Where I do draw the line though is all the weird freaks that thrive on 100's of genders and really need bringing back into line .................. see I have a problem with certain groups of "people" each to there own.

As much as I hate everybody, I have to say people's sexual orientation doesn't bother me. What folk do with their bodies and what they want from life is their business not mine.

What I do object to us being told I have to accept it. There is only a bias because it has been made that way. If folk just got on with their own thing and didn't try and push an agenda on everybody else there wouldn't be a problem. I object to other people being offended on my behalf. If I want to be offended I can manage that all by myself.

One person tried to convince me that (her words) sexual deviancy was frowned upon by the bible, got the response that I had read the Bible. She thought she was on a winner until I made the comment that I had read Enid Blyton books as a kid too, and I didn't believe them either.

She just couldn't understand that I didn't care what anybody's orientation is!

But yeah, gots to admit, there are some wierd folk out there....still, leave me alone and I'll leave you alone.

I've read the Bible myself and the only bit I really find valid is the gospels of the New Testament and nowhere in them that I can find does Jesus even refer to sexuality. My take on it is that Jesus pretty much says "It's not my place to tell you how to live your life. That is your own responsibility but know that you will be judged on it when you slip beyond the veil so choose your path wisely". It's the church that created all the rules and all the 'God Says this' or 'God says that' stuff. I think you should live by your own sense of right and wrong and personal moral compass, within the boundaries that society sets for the protection of others and the good of the whole, and what people do is between them and God and not the business of other people.

The key point of course is that what we are shouldn't matter and should be simply a personal matter, not foisted on other people or shoved down their throats as if it's the way forward for humanity. Being straight isn't a matter of 'Pride' it's just the way you are so why should being Gay, Trans or whatever be any different? The push for equality has now seemingly led to a seizure of the moral high ground from which the minorities seem to feel they are in a position to make the majority bend the knee and those who felt oppressed now feel they have the right to oppress others. Not a good state of affairs to my mind and certainly comes under what we consider Fascism.
