If WD40 or Plus Gas etc isn't working.

Mix up a 50/50 solution of acetone & ATF (automatic transmission fluid)
Spray it on using a garden plant sprayer or brush it on.
The idea is the mixture will creep into places that ATF wouldn't without dilution. The acetone then evaporates leaving the ATF on the threads of the offending fastener.

If you get the solution on any painted/chromed surface. Wash it off quickly as acetone is commonly used as a nail polish remover. Therefore it will dull painted surfaces if not removed quickly.

I've always found Plus Gas far superior for penetrating rusted stuff.

I was going to say 'Induction Heater' myself as they are all the rage. There are cheapo ones on fleabay for around two hundred notes. They are vastly overpriced at the moment as the technology behind them ain't exactly rocket science or complex. As well as releasing stuck bolts with very localised heat you can also use it to easily heat and bend any metal that will fit through the induction loop.

Shall I delete this thread & start again tomorrow when everyone is sober?
And the possibility of Sarky B'stard offering reach-arounds at his local garage in exchange for having his tyre pressures checked. Is less likely to be mentioned?
If that works for him & the guys at the garage. Who are we to criticise? 😎

My God!! White Lightning, is that crap still around? When I was young I always stuck to Buckfast (three bottles as an 'aperitif' before hitting the pub) but a lot of the guys preferred Sherry (old England or Eldorado) or White Lightning Cider.... Absolutely horrible. Then there was the Thunderbird

I did used to drink once upon a time but I never seemed to find 'Drunk Nirvana' and usually drank so much trying to reach it that I was liable to die from Alcohol poisoning. That's why I eventually gave up trying altogether.

Had to do this sort of thing many times and have found heat is the best but as mentioned is not always practical, you can also freeze the item you can get a freeze spray from Halfords or I find that Plus Gas to be the best of the solutions to penetrate, If all fails then I have used Nut Splitters [access permitting] to remove the offending nut. I agree on Coke to try as well it really is nasty stuff .
