I did rather like the taste of Buckfast for some strange reason and I think the caffeine had more of an effect on me than the alcohol. I would start about six Pee em Friday. First bottle with my dinner second bottle on my way into Glasgow city centre to meet my mates at Wipers Bar (Biker pub known by some as the Stab Inn) around eight pee em. Pint or two there then, around 9pm, into the Off Licence up the street and another bottle of 'Buckie' to drink on my way up to the top of the town to the student union at Glasgow Tech (Now Glasgow Caledonian University) and for while I was waiting in the queue to get in. The 'Tech' was THE venue for Punks, Psychobillies, Goths, Metalheads and all other 'weirdo's'. In there having a wild old time until three in the morning when it would be off for an Anchovy and Olive and prawn pizza and then on to wherever I was intending to spend what was left of the night. I don't miss the booze but I sure do miss those times amongst so many good people that I haven't seen in a whole lot of years.

Nope never touched that White Lightning stuff myself and I certainly wouldn't ruin good Buckfast with it! 
I did occasionally make 'cocktails' of Buckfast, Grant's Vodka and Irn Bru for special occasions
The worst drink of all that I can remember from my youf was Thunderbird. Horrible stuff. Smelled and tasted like Acetone.

I did a sponsored rough sleep a few years back in the depths of winter.
I figured that if I was gonna be homeless & sleeping in a graveyard for the night. I should make it as authentic as possible

When Mrs DD picked me up the following day. She was armed with a screenshot on her phone from the BBC weather forecast from the night before. Apparently it had been -7°c/-9°c?
That's an almost unheard of temperature in this neck of the woods.
I did cheat a bit though. I borrowed a military spec sleeping bag & was as warm as toast. But I did wake up with a bit of ice on my beard.
And surrounded by bits of frozen bread rolls. Apparently my fellow rough sleepers couldn't sleep (they hadn't come properly prepared) so my snoring had pi$$ed them off all night. And the tw@ts had been throwing food at me in an attempt to wake me up
I was extremely glad to get into a warm car & home to a warm house.
Don't ever take such simple luxuries for granted guys!

My daughter did a D of E exped in sub zero temps and I kitted her out with bivvie bag and green scratcher. She slept like a top while her pals shivered through the night. They never mocked her green kit again!
