Christ you want to see the potholes on the road out of my village through Hell's Glen! Since the other road out was shut due to damage caused about four months ago all traffic in and out including forestry HGV's has been going up and down that five mile stretch of single track road and, combined with freezing and heavy rains it has now become one big long pothole with crumbling sides and it's a wonder that no-one has taken a long trip down the side at one of the sections where there is a steep 50ft or so of slope just inches from the edge of the road.

Straths Helmsdale and Halladale is the same. Though, as it's a forestry trunk route (no pun intended, but you got to admit...😏) it does be actually get a fair bit of work. Couple of places you could end up in the river though....and the phone keeps getting cut off cos the lorries drive on the cables and break them!
