Heading out on my little beauty, first ride since before Brands, recalibrate brain time!
I had adjusted the handlebars forward to try & get a bit more weight over the front wheel (for cornering, nothing to do with wheelies!), when I started the bike the throttle was really stiff/sticking. There is a groove in the throttle housing in which sits a lug on the mirror clamp, I had moved the mirror up the bar slightly which obviously was causing pinching the throttle end, took me 15 mins to sort it out which meant I turned up late at the meeting point & the other assumed I wasn't out. So had a ride on my own until I caught them up at the Haven Cafe near Salisbury, the SD really is a mad bike, the ease that it reaches 3 figure speeds is bonkers!
My adjustment of the bars didn't really have the desired affect, I think I may have to change the bars for some flat ones as the one on there have quite a pronounced lift in them & rolling them forward made the lift even higher, actually made my arms ache trying to hang on in that position.
I decided also that the bike s really a bit too loud with the baffle out so put that back in after I came back, me & the lads are away doing a bit of a tour for a few days later in the month, didn't fancy getting a pull by the police while away.
I still haven't even checked what settings the suspension is on, I just tend to get on & ride it, it feels fine apart from the slight vague feeling from the front when cornering hard, however this is likely have more to do with the style of the bike than poor set up, but will check it before we go away.
