This is interesting, data showing that sugar consumption has not significantly increased over the last 60 years and more, but yet obesity and diabetes have both increased massively, and also during this time the consumption of seed/vegetable oils have also increased massively, almost like there is a direct correlation. Seed/vegetable oils originally being a by-product of other production processes, that were introduced to human diet purely for profit.

There is now so much evidence to suggest that much of what we have been told over the last few decades regarding food and health is actually harmful. Basically I believe, if you eat natural foods like meat (especially red meat), fish, eggs and animal fats you stay healthy and in decent shape.

Spot on, a body needs fat as for oils how do get oil from plants unless it's highly processed? I have been eating a Low carb and Carnivore style diet for a while, Last week I had my yearly MOT, the Doctor was gob smacked ,Blood pressure normal, sugars way down she even junked my tablets, all because I eat Natural foods and not junk, every thing we were told is a lie Low fat foods have the fat's removed but they at other stuff like fructose or sucrose to make it taste better and they are nothing more than sugar, but the type the body can't deal with

What strikes me about 'plant based' is that if you look at a lot of plants they have natural defences meant to stop them being eaten. Potatoes, Tomatoes and Chilli's all contain toxins, alkaloids (They are members of the nightshade family after all) which are designed to mainly stop insects eating them but which have been known to make humans seriously ill. Apparently the main concentrations of the toxins in the potato tubers is in the skin, where the spud appears to be a bit green or where it has been damaged. I have read that farmers routinely test their potatoes to make sure the levels are at an acceptable level and yet you can buy plenty of 'skin on' potato options and even just potato skins. Apple seeds contain cyanide if I recall correctly and I seem to remember that Butter beans and Kidney beans can be deadly if not prepared properly.

There is one very clear difference between animal fats and vegetable oils and that is that animal fats are 'non-drying' where most vegetable oils are 'drying'. What that means in short is that while some animal fats may take on a greasy, waxy form at room temperatures the don't essentially change state where vegetable oils react with oxygen to form a hard resin. I'm sure y'all are familiar with linseed oil based gloss paints? Well that hard paint film is the oxidised linseed oil and most seed oils including Sunflower, Rapeseed, Safflower and Walnut do the same thing. Who is to say that they don't do this in the body where animal fat is essentially like our own body fat and you would assume that our bodies are very capable of processing it where, as a species, we haven't really been exposed to seed oils until the last couple of hundred years at maximum.

Stands to reason that, if something has only relatively recently become part of the human diet we won't be even close to having adapted to cope with any harmful effects it might have on us.

Not just vegetables .. we really aren't designed to eat raw meat (which you might expect we could have evolved to, before we learned to make fire) unlike meat eating animals which have far stronger stomach and digestive acids. Acids which destroy parasites...

If we get parasites, then they tend to grow to massive proportions. Which they wouldn't if we were designed to eat raw meat.

The paleo diet is mainly based on nuts, fruit, seeds and grains... They reckon that's what we would have eaten, we have grinding teeth after all. I think we would have been like wolves, eating our fill when we got food, then probably going hungry between.

That's ingrained in our psyche, and we 'prepare' for the famine periods, yet nowadays food is plentiful so we store fat instead. And FFS, who'd eat nuts, seeds, and grains if they can have bacon?

We aren't designed to be fat, so we get the associated diseases that come with it.

Which reminds me, I need to lose weight.

More evidence that fat is good for you, in this instance dairy fat, which as a kid growing up in the 70s our parents instinctively knew, we used to given full fat milk at primary school everyday, we were told that milk butter and cheese were good for us. Then from the 80s onwards were were told by government and scientists that fat and dairy products were bad and caused diabetes, cancer, etc. More and more evidence is now showing that advice was total bollox, dairy fats actually protect us from diabetes and heart disease. Another instance of government and scientists telling us something, when the total opposite is actually the truth 😒
