I thought exactly the same thing @Tallpaul I wonder if you'd get pulled by the fuzz if you were out on the bike in a turban and weren't the right colour I'm guessing you'd need to have some kind of certificate to prove you were a Sikh or are white folks not allowed to become Sikhs? I don't think I've ever seen a white man in a turban, I'm genuinely interested in finding out now.

I recently saw a video of an Indian couple watching it, and they really enjoyed it, appreciating the humor and thinking it was hilarious.

I gather Michael Bates was a fluent speaker of Hindi, or was it Urdu, or was it both? and you can hear that in 'It ain't half hot' when he slides easily into speaking in Urdu, or Hindi (whichever it is).
