Got me thinking last night - I know being sober is scary!! Anyway. Im debt free and ridden my bike maybe 1500 miles this year due to being on call, ill, commitments. Do I really want to go £7k in debt for maybe 3000miles a year..

Shit I hate being sober lol

I don't know your bike history/progression so my only advice, as ever, is...

Don't be a cunt.
Well done you. 😁

It's heartwarming to have advice followed.

this is when reality kicks in and we all have to make those decisions, you need to do what's right for you heart rule head or head rule heart, we have all been there mate

The Superduke is probably the only bike I'd swap my speed triple for. , if I could afford one. Just cos you've only done 1500 miles this year, dunt mean it'll be t'same every year.

For me it is my mental health that tells me f..k everything life is too short having seeing way too many suicides over the last few years and having my own demons.. I am actually off to get a tattoo this afternoon to finish my sleeve, and everyone is like why waste your money? Well, for one, it's my money and two it makes me happy so DILLIGAF - which is what i am having tattoed lol

@Foxy - i am getting that vibe from a lot of riders, it's the final decision for me.

If you can afford it, do it. If it's going to compromise your family finances, don't.

Miles you do are immaterial truly. If you can afford it and it makes you happy it can sit in the can and not eat a thing.

I am totally the wrong person to advise on such things, having always had the attitude that life's too short (a result I am sure of having lost both parents when they were in their 40's while still a kid). :(

I have always lived for the moment, spent money I haven't got, and at times got myself in the shit financially speaking, but one thing I won't do is lie on my death bed wishing I had done more stuff, life is for living my friends!

Other far more sensible advise is available, listening to me may harm your finances , always read the small print!

If you want one but don't want a debt hanging around, put some dosh away as it becomes spare, Eventually you will get the bike or something else that tickles yer fancy (as wishes change with time) You're a young lad with family, make the most of them and see what the future brings,You've got a smart bike mate so it's not the end of civilisation if you don't have a KTM just now.

I've missed out on plenty of things in the past through trying to be sensible, but now I just want to do what makes me happy while I can :). You never know whats around the corner, so enjoy yourself now. Motorcycling as we know it is a time limited activity, either through legislation or age, so its now or possibly never.

Having said that debt is a cruel master to be enslaved to 🤔

It's exactly what I did, sold the Triumph as a reasonable deposit & put £7K on a personal loan, borrowing money is very cheap at the moment.
If the truth was known Billy.
I'm the last person that should be offering my opinion to BB3.
I've always had a mental block about spending large sums of money on myself.
The recent purchase of a summer toy for myself & Mrs DD & the lift for my man-cave. Could almost be considered therapy 😳
