@Jon9 Sorry, confusion is my fault. It was just the word Panzer....you might guess from my avatar, I'm a great fan if Kelly's Heroes, the film with Donald Sutherland, Clint Eastwood and Telly Savalas (amongst others). My Mrs says I should buy shares in Tiger 131

Most German armoured vehicles were given the designation Pzkfw and then a number. Pzkfw stands for Panzerkampfwagen, which translates literally as 'armoured fighting vehicle.'

Other lightly, or none armoured vehicles would be designated sdkfz "Sonderkraftfahrzeug" literally "special purpose vehicle"...things like half tracks, light armoured radio vehicles, etc....

Put my anorak away now, shall I?.....( Off I go, whistling "Burning Bridges".....)

Nah, you are going to have to grovel a bit more. And mind your language. The chaps on here are awfully buttoned up with standard English. They struggle wi' onythin' wi' a dialectic smack tae it.

You know, I never looked into 'targets' much but I always assumed that the Panzers, were from the class of armoured vehicles and therefore Panzers, but were also called Panthers because they liked to call their armour after big cat - Puma, Tiger, Leopard.
A common misconception. Yo've been learned as Badger would say.

Badger?
