I was just this second looking at the same email from them Sarky.
And trying to work out why the least powerful/cheapest one you've highlighted. Caters for batteries up to 85Ah. Which is a very large capacity car battery.
The more expensive ones on offer seem to cater for absolutely enormous batteries hardly ever found in UK vehicles using 12v.
I assume it's because small engined vehicles equipped with start/stop use larger than normal batteries? 🤔

Out of the four on offer. The cheapest one would be fine for most vehicles.

This is a genuine ask btw, not playing devils advocate or anything..

The small charger looks identical to the ones that pop up in 'middle of lidl' for about 12 quid.

They work (I've got one) so what does the extra thirty quid (if I've a trade card) buy me ?

The extra £30 probably buys you nothing you need Chas.
I remember those Lidl/Aldi chargers being discussed on our previous home. Nobody had a bad word to say about them.

I use Optimate 4 chargers, purely because they've never failed to deliver. And I have confidence in leaving them connected for months at a time.

I have a CTEK CT5 charger I got for Christmas last year. It's still brand new in its box but It's only designed for bikes/small cars.

I think the main problem with the Chindian cheap stuff is QA, it'll either work brilliantly for ages at a bargain price or go pop in a week. 50/50 chance.

Much like buying a used Range Rover ;)

You forgot to put the price ticket on mate. How else do we know how much you're flogging it off for? BNIB, bargain etc

Odds that good? My son in law got one because he’d ‘always wanted one’. It’ll cost you, I said. It’s ok, he said, it’s a diesel. PSA? I said. What? He said. My prostate is fine. No, I said your big end bearings and air suspension. He sold it 6 months later with bearing shells spinning and deflated suspension. It cost him maybe £7k loss?

I only dabbled with what's now termed a 'classic'. They were bad enough. I'd only have them from people where I actually knew (not a paper trail) the history. I think they made well built ones on a Wednesday.
I used to avoid EFI let alone air suspension.

I have no idea why. But this is the cheapest CT5 Powersport on Ebay? 🤔

Unless there's some kinda hidden trick on those that the £46 model doesn't do? The £46 version seems like much better value Chas.

I'll have you know Range Rover is currently in the top half of what cars top ten vehicles!

Top ten most unreliable vehicles, that is.

😳
A lady I know very well (but not mentioning any names)
Had a lot to do with JLR & for many years.
Her advice when asked about modern Landrovers/Range Rovers was always..."Ideally, don't get one. But if you absolutely have to have one. Get rid of it before the warranty expires!"...
The stories she's told me, mean I would never have one unless it was a freebie. And even then someone else would have to be paying for the repairs as well 😳

Range Rover is a prime example of badge engineering. The name sounds good but the reality of ownership is dire!

As you know, I have an 'affinity' with Land Rovers. (there's enough bits of them in my skin, and enough of my skin and blood in them... So, affinity.) And, I wouldn't have a new model given me!

Youngest I would consider would be a mid date 200tdi Defender. Late 90's. And even then I'd think twice.

About 50% of the listings for discoverys in the sub 3k range are 'spares or repair'. The newer ones don't seem to make old bones

My brother had a Discovery, that was on it's 3rd lap around the clock, when he sold it. And i don't think he spent a lot on it either. Just normal wear and tear items.
