This morning started on some minor fixes and changes. First was replacing the plastic side panels with nice flat(ish) aluminium ones:

Then removed the right side Eagle decal which I noticed had its wings clipped, and replaced with a shiney new one (taped up for now as its so hot):

This afternoon I'll have a look at fitting the new rear mudguard, tail light and indicators, although I'm not sure if the indicator brackets I have will be sufficient, so it could be just a trial fit to see 🤔

Rear mudguard partially fitted, some of the fixings were missing , thats maybe why the mudguards were half price. So much head scratching, and I came up with a temporary solution to losely fit, and ordered what I believe are the missing fixings off eBay for a couple of quid. The wires from the brake light are quite short, which means they will have joins under the mudguard, when ideally they should be longer allowing them come up under the seat before having any joins.

The original standard mudguard is two layers of thick plastic bolted together, and it weighed a ton, so added bonus I've saved some weight :)

The new silencers sound fantastic 😁 They give a nice rumble, having a great tone, without being offensively loud, and they meet homologation.

I tried to video them, but it came out a bit crap 😕

 I'll try again in the near future,

Still waiting for the new shocks, seat and levers. Tomorrow hopefully I'll swap the bars, front indicators, and front mudguard.

I was going to fit the new front mudguard as well, but to do that the fork brace has to be removed, that is secured with four dome head allen bolts, the front two were very tight but were freed with some effort, however the rear two do not want to budge at all 😕 As they are dome heads, I was worried applying too much force might strip them and then I'd be fooked. So the existing mudguard will stay where it is for the time being

Front indicators tomorrow.

Try refitting the front pair & doing them up as tight as you dare. Then try undoing the rear pair again Scrappy.
If that doesn't work, do you own an impact driver? If not, but there's enough clearance to get one in. I have one you can borrow.

Cheers for the tip (y) I have an impact driver, but pretty sure there isn't enough room, I'll double check tomorow.

I wanted to make sure I was happy with the bar and mirror positions, so I took the Guzzi out for a quick spin tonight. Wow! I'm loving the way this bike rides 😁 it is soooo much fun. I'm not clever enough to analyse why, but I seem to be able to carry more speed into bends than I'd dare on my other bikes. It's really confidence inspiring and despite the rear suspension not feeling great (soon to be sorted), it just feels planted.

It's currently got Continental road attack 3 tyres, does anyone have experience of them? - I was prepared to change them for Bridgestone BT45's as that is what I have on the Bonneville, but I don't think I will now as the Contis feel great :)
