Bonneville The One, The Only, The Bonneville!

Aye it's the One and the Only model but you can't have just one, gotta have a few 'flavours'! I am likely to get rid of the 2014 Thai job though at some point or turn it into a scrambler. I would also happily swap it for an early pre-injection scrambler or a 790 to scrambler or, and this is a long shot, for a Meriden Triumph in roadworthy condition. The two 2001's however are going to stay mine for life now!

Yes, there is something special about the air-cooled carb Bonnevilles, I don't see me ever letting go of mine either :)

Took a spin out on one of my Bonnie's as we had a decent dry day here for the first time in a few weeks. Took a couple of photos in a layby heading East toward the Rest and Be Thankful. Very cold but refreshing. The roads guys have seriously gone to town with the road salt though so my leathers and the bike were covered in white salty dust by the time I got home.

Nice one Marty. I decided to be a gay, Southern, shandy drinking, fair weather non rider. Gave Annie a good shine up and put the cover back over.

For me the early Bonnie's do really have that true character and spirit of the originals. They look slim, rangy and plain mean but with a real touch of class and glamour just like the originals where the later models. especially the 1200's look too bulky and overweight. They look well, to use nasty swearwords - Modern and American! The alloys wheels are attractive from a maintenance and simplicity side but they just look wrong on a Bonnie. Back when I was deciding what I wanted I tried to persuade myself that the alloys looked good but I just couldn't convince myself.
