Personally I would welcome WW3. Life is a bit boring and a bit of a 'reset' might just be a larf. I certainly would like to see Russia turned into a wasteland and China would be a bonus.

My thoughts since the start of it. All this we behind Ukraine shite same bollocks as covid.They are giving him no way out, and increasingly pushing him to take more drastic action.
I'm convinced the West is trying to start WW3, increasing the rhetoric and antagonising Russia and China into conflict. The WEF (or whoever) trying to establish their 'New World Order'.
It's so hypocritical that an arrest warrant is issued against Putin, but Tony Blair is still a free man and working for the EU and a member of the WEF

Wouldn't bother me either, If a nuke is heading this way I would like it to land within 60 miles of me so I'm gone in a flash, Otherwise if I survived unscathed I could quite happily go bush and "make do" it would be nice if my dog could come along as well........ bit like I am Legend

Aye, where I am too I'd go out with a flash if the Russki's managed to get missiles off but I reckon the reality is that Russia would be irradiated before they could fire their first missile and, if they did manage to get anything off it'd probably blow up or crash land in Russia. Think of all that new Real Estate that Russia and China would provide if we wiped 'em out too. Lebensraum in spades as soon as the radiation had died down. It would be the first real opportunity to forge a new world since the America's were colonised.

Just had this pop up on on tube shorts, I know it's a shit clip from some American tv series but it got me thinking about the alert thing our Gov. tried to test on our phones recently, Why would anyone want to be alerted to a major disaster ...look at the chaos and panic all the sheeple would cause.... I'm just going to sit down with a bottle of good stuff and kiss my arse bye bye

It was probably done to keep the sheeple who are scared that the big bad Russki's might take aim at them happy. I suspect that, in the event of a real pending nuclear attack, they wouldn't actually send out the alert as there really wouldn't be any point.

While I agree with you about Blair, the suggestion that the West wants WW3 makes no sense.
The West is not encouraging Finland, Latvia, etc to worry about Russia - Russia is; the West is not encouraging the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, etc to be worried about China, China is.
Both those countries are being run by deranged and dangerous dictators - the parallels with the 1930s are terrifying.
The best hope is that standing firm now will buy enough time for these leaders' times to pass.

Hmmm.... Not sure I buy his 'assessment' and I personally believe that we have to/Must aid Ukraine to defeat Russia or go to war with them ourselves. I wouldn't trust any assessment from an American, military or not, as you can never believe a word that comes out of their mouths unless you are certain they aren't a 'mouthpiece' for someone with an agenda of their own. I am all for nuking the Russian filth personally and I wish we had annihilated them at the end of WWII or let Hitler finish them off before going for his throat.

It was quite a good read. Reminded me of the exercises at school. Like hiding under your desk would save you! Also reminded me of the TV film "Threads", which I watched at the time. Some memorable images....
interesting facts about things like Calmac ferries designed to be floating nuclear bunkers. Hebridean Princess was one, still afloat, but no longer calmac, for example. Details about ROC bunkers (Tocsin bang, anyone?) Other bunkers etc.
Book deals with the 50's onwards.....quite the eye opener to how well we weren't prepared. And an eye opener to just how far up shit creek we are now. We weren't prepared then, and even less so now "as far as we know". Govt will be fine I'm sure.

Yeah - once running around like Mad Max had a certain appeal, but I don't think I'm up for all that now.
Roasted at the start or crack open the booze cupboard and drug store and go out with a bang before the radiation sickness kicks in - who knows, there might even be empty roads to go for a final blast on sans helmet!
