I'm sure that everyone made the connection with animal welfare organisations. But I for one didn't think it triviallised the great work they do.
And I sure as hell wasn't "offended" by the advert.

Absolutely, it was a parody, and bloody funny too 😁. We need more of this type of advertising instead of the vomit inducing and mind numbing virtue signalling crap that has become the norm.

Let's face it folks we are watching the end of western civilisation. I remember back in the eighties Tipper Gore was claiming that Heavy Metal would bring down Western Civilisation by corrupting children because of it's aggression and perceived violent nature. Who'd a thunk it was actually going to be because of a weakening of the backbones of the next generations who have turned into pathetic, permanent little children who are afraid of hurty words and mean thoughts.

I was over at the Health Centre the other day collecting some meds for my wife and I was chatting with the Receptionist, a local woman about my age and very 'normal'. I like to think of myself as a bit 'out there' and, we were talking about how her sons caravan was trashed by a couple of local kids (there are less than twenty of the blighters in the village) and someone saw them but, when the parents were approached it was a case of "It couldn't possibly have been my little Johnny, he wouldn't do such a thing" and, as there was no photographic evidence the Police wouldn't even attend let alone do anything. I casually hit out with my old "I reckon the apocalypse is coming soon" and I was taken by surprise when she replied "I wish it would hurry up". I think a hell of a lot of people are utterly fed up with the shit that our world is turning to.

I actually disagree. I have a pendulum theory of social change. It’s always in motion apart from that brief moment at the top of each swing. There’s quite a lot of evidence the brighter under 40s have already rejected the wokism and addiction to marketing and teenagers are vastly more cynical. Crucially they don’t feed off MSM but share and signpost stuff more like a resistance movement. They talk of clotshots and jabbatoirs. They certainly didn’t fall for Salmond’s keech any more than they have Nippy’s. I also don’t see BLM with quite the traction the BBC would have you believe. I sense a growing desire for good old fashioned law & order.

Our immediate problem is the professional politician. We need to reject the traditional parties at the ballot box. That’s where I’m less confident but I also think there are Tories on manoeuvres.

I wholeheartedly agree, people need to lose the idea of a wasted vote, because if you don't vote for change then change will never happen. Voting for an alternative can work, look at the influence the Brexit Party had once they started achieving some success in the ballots, and of course the SNP practically overnight wiped Labour and the Conservatives off the political map in Scotland.

Oh that’s entirely normal. I made some massive errors and screwed myself over a few times. I also had some entirely lucky breaks. Confusion is also a normal condition of youth. In many ways I can’t believe how well life worked out but there are a couple of key decisions I got utterly wrong and from which there is no recovery, just sadness. And that’s the limit of my soul baring.

I just came to realise you can’t dwell on the things you can’t change or influence. You just have to roll with the punch and get back up.

I must admit that I pretty much seriously ballsed up my early life. I was thinking a while back about 'connecting' with friends from my youth and I went through them one by one and came to realise that, although we pal'ed around a lot I really didn't know them and they didn't know me. I put on a persona and hid my intelligence behind a big psycho/biker/psychobilly facade and it was that facade that they knew. I wish now that I had pursued my interest in Quantum and Astro physics and philosophy rather than screwing about playing the fool. I might have made some solid friends who 'got me'. When I think back to my life through my teens to my early thirties I realise they are a wasteland not worth revisiting. I had a few 'friends' from back then on my Facebook page but I recently un-friended them as I now realise there is twenty to thirty years of life that has passed since then and what we did have between us back then wasn't worth bothering about. Onwards now is the only direction.

Friends are a strange concept. I have...... 2? Maybe 3 people I would call friends. Don't see them for years, and when we do get a face to face it's like we were talking just yesterday.

I don't use faecesbook, twatter, instashit, or any social network. I'm more an antisocial network kinda guy. Misanthropes unite!... Err. Oh... Hang on...

Absolutely spot on - everyone else is just noise (y)

went out tonight with seven mates, to a nice Village pub in the middle of nowhere in Kent, none of us had seen each other for at least two and several I hadn’t seen in twenty plus years!!

Really good just chattering away like years ago and I even got forgiven for the unfortunate incident involving a shed, alcohol, narcotics, a weather vain, and a .22 rifle in 2001(y)

That’s mates ..:D

We definitely need the full details of that incident 🙂

Was it as bad as the incident you told me about in total confidence?

The one involving the Nuns, alcohol, narcotics a box of chocolate ring donuts & the transvestite dwarf? 😳

„Old friends“: Got me thinking…

During the last 16 months, I feel an ever increasing detachment to the few friends, I value so much.
Is it me who has changed? Maybe.

But they are all so straight in line with mainstream that it really does repel me beyond words.

One of them complains that his young son is giving him so much trouble, being the exact crazy shithead that he was himself 40 years ago.
And later, thinking this over, I came to the conclusion that we probably became such good friends BECAUSE he was just that crazy shithead!

Now my friend is 100% mainstream, disgustingly p.c. and totally monochrome.

What went wrong with all these folks? Who switched off their thinking? (I guess that’s a rhetorical question 😔)

For the sake of our future, I do hope that his son stays on his own tracks…

Here‘s to the young generation 🍺

There is a line that goes, ‘If you are not losing friends you are not growing up.’ Cannot remember the author.
