A Place For Your WTF Moments

The bubble that's been placed around cyclists by the changes to the Highway Code. Is absolutely ridiculous.
This guy was fined nearly £2000 for a perfectly safe pass...

Try following a bunch of 20 lycra clad twats down a single track road with passing places.

I was 7th vehicle in the queue. Stuck behind them for miles. And the bastards wonder why they get abuse.

I have found that they are the least likely to stop or give way because they all consider themselves to be on a mission to beat their 'personal best' in their fantasy Tour de France which, of course, is more important than the line of cars trying to get to their place of work or the delivery drivers trying to do their job in a timely fashion so they can finish up and get home to their families. I really have no problem with the average person using a bicycle to get from A to B like most of us are trying to do when we are on the road but the Lycra mob using everyone's roads as their own personal Cycle championship should be kicked firmly up the arse and told that ordinary roads are not their playgrounds.

Selfish twats bathing in their own imagined virtue.
With an attitude like this from the Police. Combined with the attitude of the video camera toting cyclists. I can't help thinking it'll be an incredibly lucrative exercise. And a great bit of virtue signalling by the Police. They'll rake in the £'s whilst pretending it's all about "Road Safety" again! 😏

What grinds my gears is, I drive a an old Landy, as you know. 55 is a comfortable speed (any faster my ears bleed) but on local roads I usually trundle along at around 40.

I have no problem whatsoever pulling up to let folk pass. If I’m coming downhill and see a vehicle coming up, I’ll pull in and wait for them coming uphill. It’s not difficult, is it? Why cant Lycra clad twats pull in and let folk pass? I bet they would be pissed off if they got stuck behind my Landy!

The amount of times I have been heading uphill with a loaded trailer, and some twat decides they can just sail downhill and make me pull up. It really annoys me…. One tried to make me reverse back to the passing place, despite him being nearer to one, and it was on his side of the road, as was the one I had passed. If it’s on your near side, it’s up to you to pull into it.

I just put the brake on, and got a paper, sat there reading until he got the message.

Entitled moronic Lycra clad twats really get my goat, they are even worse now we have stupid laws giving them too many privileges! If you want to be on the road, get some fucking insurance like the rest of us and take a test to show you can at least understand the laws of the road! Rant over.

Why have the police never, to my knowledge, ever run safety operations like this for the benefit of motorcyclists? 🤔

Also if safe passing distance is 1.5 meters, what happens when a group of them filling the other lane approach from the opposite direction, are you supposed to stop, or are they guilty of a crime for not giving you 1.5m distance?

That's the thing @Big Sandy they aren't using the road as a road to go from one place to another, they are recording their time or whatever on the 'fitbit' etc. trying to achieve a 'personal best' etc. and so they will not stop for ordinary road users and they are so convinced that they have 'every right to be there' despite the fact that they are abusing the privilege of 'sharing' a road. The lycra mob are arseholes every one of them. Roads are for going from A to B not for competing in a sport unless they have been expressly closed off with full authorisation in order to hold a sporting event. If motorcyclists or car driver behaved the same way the Police would be down on them like a ton of bricks and the press would be full of outrage but, because the cyclist, at his fastest, rarely exceeds the speed limit and, unless it is written into law that they must give way for other faster moving traffic they will continue to take the piss.

The people most commonly breaking speed limits in towns are now cyclists with the lousiest brakes!

I don't know if I've just become more aware of it and things were ever thus but 'consideration for other road users' seems to be a thing either of the past or a past of my failing memory and a fabrication.
Always been a rule in my mind on single track roads that downhill gives way to uphill.
As to cyclists? whether on a pushbike, car or motorcycle I'll travel at a speed that I can stop safely. Sometimes that may exceed the national speed limit. I've always aspired to the dream of an 'Old, Bold rider' (ask your grandad for the joke ;) )
The lycracunts make their speed other peoples problem. I've a 20mph limit on the road alongside the Schtetl, with good reason as it's nadgery. Lycracunts belt down and if they had to stop, they couldn't.
I'm sore tempted to force the issue ;)

I agree @chas consideration for other road users seems to have given way to 'I have the right' for a hell of a lot of drivers amd road users in general. Much of the roads around here are 'single track' and I have so often come across the 'I'm not reversing, you must reverse' mob. I also find that, where folks are terrified of getting close to a cyclist they think nothing of coming straight on through a passing place at me on my motorsickle when 1. I can't just wheel it into the grass beside the road (which is often boggy, loose and rough and where you will be fine on foot with a bicycle weighing a few kilos but not a 200kg motorcycle and 2. I I don't have a feckin' reverse option. They come whacking along at full speed forcing me to get as close as I dare to the rough edge of the road and act like I'm in the wrong even though I had already long since passed the passing place at my end while they have come straight on through the one at their end of the stretch. Then you have the cars and vans who sit right up your arse when you are trying to take it cautiously (as in not over the speed limit) in wet and tricky conditions and the HGV's, often wide load who make you sit behind them at 40mph for 30 miles when they could easily pull in at the numerous lay by's around the country for a few seconds to allow the built up traffic to pass them or could signal to let you know that the road is free of oncoming traffic so it's clear to overtake.

Courtesy like all the other values we used to cherish seem to have been flushed down the toilet in with the advent of our 'modern' culture of 'I'm entitled to'.

I may ride/drive like a cunt on occasion BUT I will never impede anybody else's progress.

I've recently noticed a habit of people flashing me when I've made an overtake. For clarity, the motorist approaching has flashed me when I'm already back on my side of the carriageway so they're basically flashing me for the temerity of appearing temporarily on their side of the road. Or something.
