I know this song from Battle of the Bulge with Robert Shaw as the German panzer General and Henry Fonda as the American General trying to find him....
Also " ERIKA" is my favourite ww2 German song and their was a brilliant action actual ww2 German soldiers in battle video to accompany it on you tube..
It was brilliant and I've listened to and watched it 100 times easily....

Ha! We sang this song along with “Wildgänse” in my Bundeswehr-Unit as well.
Unfortunately, 50% of the lads definitely were harmonically challenged, to put it mildly…
