I think I'm getting too old and very, very jaded. I watch videos of folks doing wheelies, standing on the saddle etc. etc. and just find myself thinking .... What's the point? and Why would you want to risk smashing up your machine just to do something a million people have already videoed themselves doing? I must admit that I've never really seen the point of taking an expensive machine, designed to be the best it possibly can be on two wheels and then going around on one wheel. I was born a grumpy bastard and I'll die a grumpy bastard.

Agreed. The only time I'll be popping a wheelie is by an accidental handful of too much throttle. And I sure as shit won't be filming the look of terror on my boat race!

I've done it three times and none of them were deliberate.

1. A very cold wet night on a CB250RS and, pulling away from traffic lights my waterlogged and frozen clutch hand slipped off the lever sending me vertical and all of a sudden I was riding a single cylinder leaving two exhaust trails.

2. Coming over a humpbacked bridge and gave my GSX750 a little too much welly and went vertical. Damn near shit meself

3. Took delivery of the black Triumph Sprint I had as my first bike in a few years. Grabbed a handful of throttle turning out of my street and the front wheel came up of it's own accord unexpectedly and, with only a light grip on the bars and not expecting trouble the front wheel turned off to the right so, when it came down it created a very 'interesting' bucking bronco effect that warned me not to be such a prat in future.

I reckon that's a fake but it probably won't be long before they reach 'terminator' levels. Why folk feel the need to create robots is beyond me. It's not unlike a modern version of trying to play God and that never ends well. We have no real, genuine need, for robots or anything 'more intelligent' than us. There is also a paradox at work in that they want to create something stronger and more robust than flesh to use to do their bidding in environments that the human body can't tolerate and to work without need for rest, slaves essentially, but if they manage to create anything that can really be called artificial intelligence then ethically you can't use it to do anything it doesn't want to do. Our 'experts' in this world need to sit down for a long time and examine the philosophy of being alive. Technology creates fun toys a lot of the time but it really doesn't do much for quality of life and actual genuine evolution. In fact, if anything, technology hinders evolution of the body and soul.
