Hmm..... The Navy, fine chaps 
I was fishing from the harbour at Ardrossan in Ayrshire in the mid eighties when a minesweeper came chugging in and hove to about ten feet from where we were fishing from (fortunately we had all seen them coming and reeled in our lines). Skipper comes out on the bridge and, I shit you not, hails us with "I say you fellows, is this Troon?" To which the reply was 'Naw mate, see thon big giant shed with 'Ailsa' on it about twelve miles south of here? - Well head for that as that's Ailsa Shipyard at Troon Harbour.' 'Thanks Awfully' the skipper says and goes back into the bridge. The mine sweeper goes into reverse and chunters off down the coast. He somehow managed to scrape the bottom too and I don't know how because the Arran ferry, no small boat, came in and out of that very channel umpteen times a day and didn't scrape it's hull as did Shell oil tankers coming in to berth at the Bitumen plant at the end of the harbour.
