It looks like the Glen Cafe at St Mary’s Loch (strictly it’s on the smaller Loch of the Lowes). It’s had a big refurb which it badly needed. Basically re-skinned the entire exterior. Lovely spot but can get pretty busy - just not Pooley Bridge busy. There are great riding roads out West too radiating from New Galloway. Nice little eateries aplenty in Selkirk, Moffat and similar sized towns.

The biggest hazard on those roads is sharp changes in elevation and direction causing you or oncomers to wind up on the wrong side of the road. It makes for exhilarating or scenic but you can’t successfully do both!

I sold a house in 2001 & purchased it again in 2014 (long story for a beer or three one day HT)
I accidentally left a huge engineering vice bolted to the work bench when I sold the house. It was the type with a lever to enable the jaws to move in big chunks without the need to operate the winding mechanism.
Very rare & expensive these days.
When I asked the guy if he'd made good use of it in the past 13yrs? And would he be leaving it, as technically it was still mine?
I wasn't expecting a response of..."It was old & huge. So I binned it!"...

It’s amazing how some people have no idea what they have of value simply because they don’t value it. My vice is a key garage fixture and painful to walk into! Big swivel head and pipe jaws.
