Accident

Sold my car, no point paying tax and insurance for something I'm not likely to use for at least 9 months.
Just after the accident I was going to sell my bike but changed my mind, it's not likely I'll get to ride it this year but I'm keeping it and see what happens.

Commiserations! Bloody dangerous things ladders. I remember a colleague stringing up bunting for a party 15 feet up when the base slipped out and he crashed to the ground breaking both thumbs under the side rails. He had massive plaster casts on each hand like boxing gloves for weeks.

That was when he discovered the nature of his friendships. Fake friends wouldn’t even go to the bar for him. Real mates would stick a pint between his mitts. Fortunately there was this gay bloke who would manipulate his zip etc., in the gents.

Anyway I am just happy it’s all slowly resolving itself for Gazza because we break easier and fix slower with age. It’s what has brought me to sell my bike in the coming months. ”A man’s gotta know his limitations.” I think I am just realising mine with a garden full of fallen trees to buck.

My concern is with the amount of metal work in my foot 15 screws and two plates, a small off on the bike could be a big problem. Plus only one blood vessel left in the foot.
I've kept the bike for mental/emotional reasons time will tell if I'm able to ride it again or be worried about going out on it. At least I'll have a choice. At the moment I want to ride it.

That is definitely the spirit!

Get yourself some suitable riding protection...

the thought of coming a cropper is less and less of a worry. Maybe even a sweet relief as I'm rather fed up of this world.
The only thing that would piss me off is if I was removed from the planet by some dinghy diver who's never passed a test and never heard of insurance ....... On the other hand if I new he had 6 of his mates with him and his car went up in a ball of flames, Then I would take that last breath with a smile on my face. 🥷

Been to first fracture clinic appointment today. The fracture is mending, I've got a boot now rather than the soft cast.
Got to get the ankle moving now which will be a bit painful. I can go on the mobilty scoooter and can play with the band sitting down. Got a 3 month sick note now and due back in 6 weeks. Only a small patch on the donor sight now not quite healing yet but where skin graft was taken from doing fine. Skin flap seems ok but they concerned the boot doesn't rub it as its still quite swollen. Long term they are unsure but so far so good. If I can get back on bike it won't be this year, will depend on my ankle movement.
