Well the Pitts Special is a legendary aerobatic aircraft so is an ideal airframe if you feel the need to add some jet power given that it's designed to handle high speed dives and pulling significant G-forces. Relatively speaking those look like rather small engines too and I doubt they can run for long unless he has a ton of fuel on board. More about folks marvelling at it being 'jet assisted' than a particularly significant addition to the performance of the aircraft I reckon.

Nice job, only baby units mind like the old JATO system [Jet assisted take off] or RATO [rocket assisted take off] used on big planes with a heavy load,they are getting rather strict these days about air shows after that old ex RAF Hunter jet hit a motorway
