Anybody having trouble getting netflix to load? I've cleared the cache etc, but it still takes an eternity. Probably just my 4g signal, but thought I'd ask.

I was on eBay last night looking to purchase the new Top Gun movie.
When an advert popped up on the telly for it.
It's on CH4 this coming Saturday night at 8:30pm.
But only watch It on catch up if you don't have a BBC (taxation certificate) licence? 😉
IMHO it is better than the original, Like the Taxation certificate jibe nail on head, thieving Bastids.

Oh and the SR72 does exist [not that fast yet mind]

Awesome film!
If the flying sequences/filming is not CGI? It was absolutely feckin amazing! 😃

Quick question for you @Don the Don.
Why do bird strikes f#ck up jet engines?
Logic suggests a small bird would be pulped by the turbine blades, then burnt to a crisp & spat out.
Is it only large birds like seagulls etc that are dense enough to smash the turbine blades & force then into the rest of the engine?

Mind you, I guess a sparrow at 1000mph would seem like a cricket ball? 😳

In physics Force equals the mass of an object multiplied by the acceleration of it so, even a seagull say, of around a kilo in weight, hitting the turbines of an aircraft travelling at say eight hundred miles per hour is gonna be a pretty decent thump and I imagine that it's the bearings of the turbines that get screwed by the impact as much as the blades.

Why do bird strikes f#ck up jet engines
"FOD" foreign object damage of all sorts can fuck some engines engines that's why every day the runway sweepers go up and down cleaning the debris up, as for bird strikes small ones will do minor damage bigger ones can cause a bigger surge in the engines and can cause them to flame out or cause severe damage, if in time they could restart them from the ram start, but attached to gearbox's will be hydraulic pumps and the like resulting in loss of control on fast jets.
Engines when inspected before flight the vanes are checked and any minor nicks can be blended out with blending files, bigger damage will require engine swop and the old engine overhauled in the Engine bay, we had many bird strikes one even went through the gap in the front screen on the Tonka and splattered the pilot from head to toe, Best one I was watching a few officers inspecting the line as a Tonka did a fly past fast and low when several birds rose up was splattered into bits all falling over the officers the head of one landing on the junior officer and a head and wing coming down like a sycamore pod on the senior officer, "made my day" felt sorry for the junior ranks who had to pick up all the bits into black plastic bags.

Awesome film!
"Told you it was better than the first", nice to see proper types Sukhoi SU-57 instead of painted up American aircraft as the enemy.
and although a film it bore a lot of issues with Iran, they tried to build a nuclear power plant and THEY are the only other nation that had the F-14 besides America purchased when the shar of Iran was in power and when he was deposed the yanks stopped supplying parts to Iran
