I very much doubt that Truss will really accomplish much. Not that I don't think she wants to but that her own party 'management' will not support her and will, like they did with Boris, actively work to thwart everything she might try to do in regard of Brexit and anything else not liberal enough for them. I believe that 'Partygate' etc. were manufactured deliberately by Sunak, Javid, Patel, Gove, Major, May, Heseltine etc. to bring Boris down as they never wanted him or Brexit in the first place and simply used him and his Brexit promises to get back into government because the public were willing to vote for them. Once Boris had been battered about himself by Covid he was really softened up and it made their dismantling of him all the easier. Again they have been thwarted by the 'little people' within their own Party and so will now spend their time trying to get the dirt on Truss so that she can be stabbed in the back and removed.

They would be committing suicide if they do not support Truss. The next general election is in two years, they need to deliver results within those two years, or many of them will be losing their jobs. Likewise if there is another change of leader, before the election, would also be suicide.

The Lords and Civil Service might stymie plans though, like they have been doing so since 2016

I wouldn't be so sure. A lot of them wouldn't even care if they lost their government positions as, just like Labour and the Liberals, they are more interested in their ability to travel freely on holiday to Europe, the perks they would be up for back in the EU and their investments in Europe that are all affected negatively by getting Britain out of the EU and making things better for the plebs. Besides that, even if the Conservatives did chop Truss and go back into another leadership hoohar who would willingly vote for that walking creepy mannekin Starmer. If anything there would be a coalition government of the SNP, Liberal and Labour parties and who in their right mind would want to see that?

If anything it was a strong vote for Boris that put the shits up not only the Conservatives but all the other parties because it signalled the possibilty that the people of the UK might not be as docile and easily controlled as they believed however we've all settled down and are now being good little cattle again so the political 'class' can relax and get back to sharing out everything amongst themselves and telling everyone else what to do.

The whole political system and the entire occupancy of the Houses of Westminster need gutting  ... pathetic infantile traitorous twats!

I've not yet seen anything of the like on any media I've seen (not been looking, mind) but a grain or more of truth wouldn't surprise me.

What slightly more than 'annoys' me is that for the past six or seven years our Country has suffered from a party that has put its own infighting above the country's needs.
The Brexit vote was called with neither side prepared for the result, PigFucker arrogantly thought it was foregone so made, and this is fucking unforgiveable, no contingency plan for the vote not going how he expected. The leave side are just as guilty as they have had, evidently, no idea what to do with their prize. The opportunities have been squandered thus far. Johnson and allies refused May's deal and pushed through a weaker one once he'd destabilised May and ousted the 'One Nation' tories. He should be stabbed in the eye 'every' time he claims to have got Brexit done. The divorce papers are signed but the alimony is still up in the air.
Much as I find him a weaselly cunt and and glad he didn't win there was a very apparent media campaign against Sunak over the past year (pre leadership). This wasn't the deft work of political investigative journalists, it was no Watergate. It was stuff given to eager, lazy journalists. And it came from within the Tory party itself.
We've had a limbo government for six weeks while they have this election. Do we get a refund on Raab's wages? Deputy Prime Minister? How the fuck that prick justified his salary I really do not know.
I'm hugely sceptical of Johnson's public pronouncements of loyalty and calls for unity behind Truss. I can't see any unity in the party and the current recently announced front bench are a small coterie of loyalists. It's not a 'skills based' application of people to tasks (James 'Oxymoron' Cleverly in a front bench post?) but that has been the case for far too long.

I truly hope Truss can pull something together and either by luck or wit find a way forward. I wish her well.

Personally I think it's doomed from the start and the country is doomed also because Politics is now dead as an evolutionary movement in the UK. It has been superceded by a strange system where, while politicians are elected by the public the real power is weilded by Middle class liberals using the press, media and legal system to do as they see fit against the will of the people.

IMO politics is such a farce, and real democracy is an illusion (or maybe delusion), because real power and policy is wielded and determined at a higher global level.

Both of the UKs main political parties are guilty of infighting and individual self interest above the needs of the country and its people. No politician seems to have any genuine concern for their constituents or the country's long term well being.

It a total cluster fuck!

A price worth paying she says, okay if you have the money to start with I think those at the top have no idea of some peoples lives "OR" they do but don't care, they have wasted the chance to keep this nation afloat with the power resources we have or could have had if acted upon

Typical BBC couldn't resist getting a stab in about a UK/US trade deal, saying the government had stated it would have a deal by 2022, but they don't say that had Trump being re-elected then likely a deal would have been sorted by now, and that it is the lefty anti British pro EU Biden government that is a major obstacle.

Also I had this email from my energy provider last week...

  • The Government have announced a 2 year Energy Price Guarantee, capping the increase in prices to £2,500 for a typical home
  • The £400 energy bill support scheme will also go ahead with monthly payments from October to March
  • This combination of a reduced cap and winter credits means while some unit rates will rise around 30%, typical annual costs will increase less than 10%
  • These discounts will be applied automatically: you don't need to do anything
  • Your new unit rates will match the Energy Price Guarantee, but your Octopus standing charges will be 4% lower – so you will be saving compared to Energy Price Guarantee rates from October 1
  • We're not adjusting monthly payments yet for the new prices. We'll review your payments in the coming weeks and send you a recommendation should they need adjusting
  • However from October to March your payments will be reduced by £67, as part of the Energy Bill Support Scheme
  • We're working hard to help those who need it most this winter. Details below
So if I'm reading this correctly then Octopus customers will be paying less over the winter months.

Bravo Italia! 👏👏😁
I've been following the coverage of her impending win. As her win became more & more likely. The MSM outlets started to pi$$ their panties.
One BBC story in particular managed to get the term "Far-right" into almost every paragraph 😏
I assume the only reason the result wasn't a Biden style vote rigging. Was because she was so far ahead it would have been impossible to cover up?

Well done Italy. I predict that several other European countries that are currently suffering the side effects of enforced multiculturalism. Will be electing "Far-right" politicians as well.
