I think this has something to do with it, those guys where the main dealers untill Royal Enfield have decided to do things different, in 2 moto GB did not have a good customer record.

When it comes to 'modern' versions of the classic twin I'll stick with my 790 Bonnie's as I reckon it's pretty much impossible to beat them for style, heritage and solidity, especially with all the regulations that restrict what manufacturers can do these days. I absolutely love my Enfield Bullets though. They are torquey, noisy as feck and just sheer fun. You really feel as if you are riding a bike from the 50's.

Jesus is that right @half ton ? I can lift the tail end of my bullets with one hand, they must only weigh about 150kg or so and the Bonnie's come in at around 200kg. 250kg sounds way too heavy for the size of the bike.

Apologies for an extended absence from the forum - been spending much of the last few months in hospital fighting off a number of infections in between half arsed attempts by the NHS to determine what type of pancreatic cancer has been eating me from the inside (waiting on the results of the third biopsy thus far, after several misdiagnoses).
Anyway on the lighter side of life, I bought a little Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals since I have had to admit to myself I just don't have the physical strength any more to easily handle my Thunderbird Nightstorm (So if anyone is in the market for a lovely condition big parallel twin….).

She has already been decatted, and had a fuelX lite and a DNA filter kit installed, however I have splurged on a few bits and pieces I shall be treating her to…

Hagon Shocks
Hitchcocks stage 2 camshaft.

The piece de resistance however, is not yet on the Hitchcocks website, but I have been in direct communication with a lovely fella on the other side of the pond who has an engineering company and developed correctly engineered belt drive conversion kits for the Royal Enfield 650 Twins. I slung Robert a cheeky email about the Indian produced belt drive kits that do look a tadge on the ropey side and asked if he would ever be looking at doing a properly designed one for the 350 J platform Royal Enfields…. latest news is that they should be in the UK within a week or two! :)

Once I get the belt drive kit I shall be stripping her down and fitting all the bits in one go. My daughter will be inheriting the best Classic 350 out there once I finally hang up my cut.

Cracking little bike GF8. We've just acquired a 350 meteor, in stock trim but we've lowered it a bit for Mrs Public Enemy.
The engine note is lovely for a 350 single, but how does it sound with the decat and DNA filter kit?
It still has the original silencer box, so it isn’t a straight through pipe. To be honest I don't have a benchmark to compare it against in order to give a qualifying opinion in regards to the differences in sound, since I have only ever heard it in current form. She sounds like a throaty mid capacity single - the overrun pops a little. You could find a 125 single and make it sound as deep and manly as acoustically possible, and this sounds a hundred times better….
Performance wise, reviewers have stated that as stock they struggle to keep up with 70mph traffic.
With the DNA filter, decat, and run in (4500 on the clock now, though only 1000 of those are ones I can lay claim to) I don't struggle to keep up with 70mph traffic and she has a little still in hand even then.
