I am waiting for the detailed numbers but it's no time to get knickers in a twist or believe SNP proper gander 🦆.

The bottom line is councillors split 40/60 Nat to Unionist and the turnout was shite with the SNP maybe better as getting their supporters out. In a straight Indy fight they are unquestionably going backwards. Most Unionists are apathetic about Local Elections because they know it has zero constitutional significance. The Muppets? Oh they are clueless dancing in their Made in Pakistan kilts.

I do suspect you are right @Sarky B’stard but by Christ the Muppets really do make Scots look like a ridiculous bunch of loons dancing, as you say, in their Pakistan made kilts bought from a chain of 'Souvenir' shops selling Scottish themed tourist trash and owned by 'Gold Brothers' who are actually, if I recall correctly, the Singh's. So it's Indians selling crap made in Pakistan and China to Muppets made in Scotland. I was watching a program last night about the Bell Rock lighthouse built by Robert Stevenson and it struck me that we have gone from being known around the world as a nation of thinkers, scientists, poets, shipbuilders, explorers, engineers, writers, fighters and general all round top blokes to a nation of pathetic whining imbeciles. Bloody embarrassing.

I kinda hope that she wins this time. Not only will it silence the broken record that is the SNP & it's supporters.
We can then wait for her to beg to come back.

And if attempt number 2 fails. She "might" even finally give up?..

BBC News - Nicola Sturgeon to launch fresh Scottish independence campaign

You know if she get's her Indyref2 I will be very tempted to vote for independence for Scotland and then I'll move to England and watch the bastards send Scotland down the tubes and I would actively campaign against any request to re-admit Scotland into a Union. If enough people thinks it's the way to go they deserve all they bloody well get.

Also. I was in Glasgow on Saturday evening for a family get together and it was the first time in years I had been in the city centre. Man it's like downtown Mogadishu! Glasgow used to have plenty of Asians in their own areas and a China town but the only Africans you would see was the occasional student. On Saturday the town was wall to wall black people and the streets were full of black 'Deliveroo' and 'Just Eat' takeaway delivery cyclists and also a whole bloody lane of the road along the North bank of the Clyde has been made into a cycle lane. I ain't going near Glasgow unless I absolutely have to from now on, it's a shithole.

It's hogwash for the faithful.

Mr Nelson said: "So the referendum demand is a bluff, an act of political theatre. Sturgeon had told friends after the last referendum that it would be political suicide to call another one until separation was backed by 60 per cent of voters. But that point never came.

"Even now, there's a (slim) majority for the Union - and that's after Brexit, an inflation crisis, a not-wildly-popular Etonian in No 10 and the partygate debacle. Polls show barely a third of Scots welcome her new timetable.

18 months away? It's just to rouse the faithful and there's oceans of water to get under the bridge before then. If it happens it will be wildcat, unlawful, 'advisory' and overwhelmingly boycotted.

There's minimal enthusias:

Meanwhile, Sturgeon, a failed lawyer remember, said that Dorothy Bain, The Lord Advocate, will ask the Supreme Court whether her proposed referendum would be legal. Er, that's not how the process works. The Supreme Court doesn't dole out advice! It would strike it down as unlawful under the Scotland Act 1998 - check my italics

SCHEDULE 5 Reserved matters

Part 1 General reservations

The Constitution

1The following aspects of the constitution are reserved matters, that is—

(e) the continued existence of the Court of Session as a civil court of first instance and of appeal.

IndyRef 2 is just smoke and mirrors to stop too much appraisal of the actual management of Scotland. Much like Boris' Rwanda refugee policy and his current love of the Ukraine.

There is not a shred of integrity or genuine 'passion for the project', it's pure playing to the choir. If she achieves her mission I'll bet anyone here twenty quid she'll look as scared and hollow as Boris did when the Brexit result was announced.

Oh I reckon that, if Indyref succeded Sturgeon, and a lot of her gang would be on the next plane to their luxury pads elsewhere in the world. I thought it was highly significant that a number of SNP 'old guard' announced they were standing down prior to the last Scottish elections and I believe it was because they feared that Independence just might be on the Horizon and they didn't want to be around to have to take the blame for it.

There is so much that has gone wrong with Scotland since the Snazi's rose to power and the only people pretending not to see it are the diehard 'freedom or death' idiots who think that, even if it all does go horribly wrong, somehow that legendary, and quite frankly mythical, Scottish tenacity and spirit will dig the country out of the catastrophic hole it would find itself in.
