During the first lockdown I talked Mrs DD into borrowing some hair clippers from a friend & having a bash at cutting my hair.
She got really good at it. Not always 100% but never worse than 90%.
So I decided to purchase her/us a set of clippers.
I looked at all the w@nky Chinese copies but eventually decided to go for the real deal.
Wahl clippers seem to be the industry standard for quality & reliability. But they can be extremely pricey as well. £65-£85 isn't unusual for their mid range clippers.
Then I found these "Wahl Vari Clip"...

They come with a 3yr warranty.
So at twice per month DIY use they should last much longer than that.
Having used them for the first time yesterday I can confirm that they do a superb job.
Thought this post might be of interest to those of you with simply crew cut hairstyles
I eagerly await the numerous "hairdresser" gags
I'll let you know how the £14 set go Scrappy. My first Wahl clippers lasted about 10 years, then I tried a couple of shite imitations, before buying Wahl again. The second one I was using up until a few months ago, when lack of working follicles dictated that I start shaving completely bald , so about 9 years service from those too. In my experience it ain't worth buying cheap clones.

I'll let you know how the £14 set go Scrappy.
But TBH, if they only last until one week after the 3yr warranty expires I'll have had more than my monies worth out of them
Everything about them looks as well made as the professional set we borrowed. Obviously there must be differences & I'm sure if they were used for 8hrs a day 6 days a week. Those differences would quickly become apparent.
But so far, so good mate

Yes mate, I understood where you were coming from.I wasn't knocking your purchase mate, just stating that other cheap brands I've tried either didn't cut, pulling on the hair, or just died.
The dog driers on ebay for around £50/60 are as good mate
Essential bits of kit IMO, and I also use a pet dryer
