So what frivolous things have you bought lately? Why?

Now you folks who follow these things will notice good, friendly Inter Service rivalry in which the Navy and Army Departments generally take the rise out of the RAF/Light Blue/Crabs but the resurgence of Maverick kind of straddles these things as he's Marine Corps whose Air Force is about the same size as the RAF......

Anyway, I was wondering how to adopt the 'look' without appearing a total sellout.

And I came up with this:

I've been snoring like a B'stard for 40 yrs and more but did a sleep test and got diagnosed with sleep apnoea which explains why I feel hung over most mornings until I re-oxygenate 🥺

Any other night flyers out there who have blazed this trail?

Mate of mine has been using one for years - makes such a difference.

He used to snore so bad, we'd put his tent in a different corner of the field if we were camping together - now I have shared a room with him fine when he's been using that machine.

Saved up some money from my little gardening jobs, but can't find anything to spend it on, looking like it's going on the energy bill if I use the aircon in this heat,:( bought the wife a new phone earlier in the year and bought myself a PS5 a couple of months ago ...waits for the piss take, but I have enjoyed a bit of gaming for a long time, now there is nothing I want which is unusual for me getting worried that my mental outlook is changing, and it's a sign of another bout of depression incoming.:(

I've found that the longer that you have coped with bouts of the 'Black Dog' visiting, the better you get at seeing it coming from a distance and also better at riding it out. Take care mate.

Of course, that black dog on the horizon could be a speck of dirt on yer specs, could be there's nothing you need right now. Bank the money for when you see something, it'll come

Perhaps you have just outgrown most of the available toys @Tricky Dicky I often focus on things I want and chase them down but as the years have gone on I find there are less and less things that still hold any real excitement to me that are attainable and so I find myself looking at Fleabay etc. and can't think of anything to hunt for. I think it's the world that's becoming boring not us.

You could well have hit the nail on the head there...I hope.

Nope it's our horizons closing in on us! 😾

Not sure it's frivolous, but bought a mesh jacket for the few really hot days we get per year. I'm sure some of you may have similar, but I've never worn one before. What a revelation. Out bimbling for 50 odd miles today in 31degrees and never felt uncomfortably hot. In fact almost cool.

When the tw@t first moved in next door he saw me using my angle grinder (well, one of them. Why change discs when you can just pick up another grinder?*) His comment was "I must get one of those". Couple days later it arrived. He says "Look it even came with a disc!". Poor sap didn't realise they are a consumable.....

* Fully aware that sounds awful lazy. But it's faster to put down a grinder with a slitting disc, and pick up one with a grinding disc, then pick up the third one with the sanding disc on. Aye, ok. Lazy.
