Can't say I'm a fan of Neil Young, simply not my kind of music and neither have I ever watched a Joe Rogan podcast but I do think that threatening a platform with affecting it's income, giving them an 'it's them or me' ultimatum, in order to attempt to get them to stop hosting another 'artist' because he has decided that that other artist shouldn't be allowed to be heard is wrong.

Not a fan of Joni Mitchell either and I am surprised that these 'old hippies' have become such establishment figures who don't seem to question the veracity of the claims made about both Covid and the Vaccine. I have to say that I see more and more articles from mainstream outlets now beginning to question not only the effectiveness of the vaccine but also potential threats and heightened risk of heart problems from it.

Perfect Sunday...Had a nice blat out on the bike (now allowed up to 55mph :D ) got home and had a brief visit from the grandaughters (the best visit ) and just polished off the dregs of a bottle of Kraken and now starting on the Cornish White Rum (dead mans fingers) while settling in to some videos of my fave Bloodsport ..

Driving up the lane yesterday morning I was confronted by six maybe eight women in different states of undress..most in bra and pants but at least two totally naked..Absolutely pissed they were...I quacked at them repeatedly with my Duck Horn and warned them they would catch a chill like that up here..
All they seemed interested in was inviting me to their private little party and getting my knickers off...
I must admit it put a smile on my face... 😁😁😁😁👍🦆

But its not his music any more, the old twat sold a 50% share 😂 - I bet his investors were not fucking happy, losing 60% of their investment income. So not only is he a virtue signalling, anti free speech, pathetic ponce, he is also an irresponsible untrustworthy c#nt!

Well, the Neil Young saga seems to have had a positive outcome, I would have thought.

And I don't accept the idea that an artist can't comment on where his work is sold - it's always happened, saying they don't want to share a bill with XYZ, etc.

I'm happier with the vaccines than Van Morrison, but it doesn't mean I'm going to chuck out his music or criticise him for voicing his opinion.

Erm, well to me no he ain't great. Give me some Elvis or Jelly Roll Morton any day!

Of course it's his prerogative to not want his music to be sold by a certain platform because he disagrees with another person on that platform but it is clear that what he was aiming for was for Spotify to go "Oh no please don't go Neil, you are worth so much more to us than that terrible Rogan fellow so we will cancel him in order to keep you happy' but I guess that Rogan is making them more money and so they made the business decision to let him go. If he had just wanted to not be associated with Spotify any more he could have simply and quietly cancelled his contract with them. That is of course assuming that he does genuinely have total control over his music which the post by @Scrappy seems to imply he has not.

It's the attempt to leverage others that is not right not his right to not have his music associated with a company whose primary aim is of course to make money and not to play politics or make decisions over who is and isn't allowed to have a say on politics.

Never actually listened to Rogan myself and I am steadfastly refusing to listen to either side of the Covid Vaccine situation. I get the distinct feeling that the Governments, Medico's and Drugs corps aren't telling the truth about either the Vaccine or the Virus and, by the same token I am not at all sure just how much those opposing the Vaccine and saying the virus is of little concern have gotten right either. I rolled the dice, took two shots of the vaccine and had a booster but, given that me and the missus live a relatively isolated life where our chance of exposure to the virus is minimal I would have preferred to not have it at all as I get the feeling that it may well prove to be as dangerous to health as the virus is reputed to be. We only took it because we feared that my wife would be denied the healthcare that she needs if we weren't vaccinated. To be honest as well the healthcare she was receiving has dropped off a cliff because of Covid restrictions so it's lose lose.
