What have you done to anything but your bike today?

Right lads...
I been out the game for a while..
My dad died just over a month ago and a lot of stuff to sort as I'm sure you can all kinda guess with my history..
Sorry for your loss Duck. As you know, my sperm donor also died in July.

Anyway, enough of that melancholy boll#cks.
Apparently the Porsche 928 is an ideal vehicle for long distance dashes to hospitals in the event of dying Dads? 🙂

Went to Motorcycle Live at the NEC, first time I've been for about 20 years. Not as large as I remember from my previous visits, but that could be just me getting old.

Glad I went, however not many bikes that inspired me, they mostly all look the same 😕

Maybe not everyone's taste but here are some I liked, the Indian FTR and the CCM Bobber being my favourites :)

I had a CCM650 duelsport for 3 years it was used and abused regular both on and off road (had 2 sets of wheels/tyres 1 for road 1 for off road) never had any problems with it. I wish I could get my hands on another.
They were much better built back then. And probably had better customer service.

They look amazing, almost jewel like now, but their after sales and communication with customers is piss poor. You'd do well to use and abuse one of the new ones without issues.

Were the older ones Rotax powered or did they still use Suzuki engines

I could well be due to growing pains, until quite recently they produced bikes in very small numbers, many models being limited editions, but now they're growing and producing bikes in bigger numbers moving beyond small batch limited editions. Its not uncommon for customer service to lag behind when a company has a growth spurt. I'm not defending them because anyone who has paid the kind of money CCM are charging deserves top quality service. Hopefully they will realise if they don't provide decent customer service then their growth will be short lived.

Just over two years ago, my mate Nick and I visited them, and Nick placed an order for a Spitfire. Lots of custom parts to his specification. Added up to about 14 grand. Deposit paid and instalments paid as the build progressed. Lead time 6 months. He finally got the bike 18 months later after threatening them with some very expensive legal action.
He sold it immediately, taking a 3 grand hit, because he was sick of the entire process and having no sort of relationship with,or confidence in CCM.

That's appalling! They were making quite a thing of their customising services at the show 🤨

I can't say that any of them really inspired me. I can't get on board with this modern plumber's nightmare look I'm afraid. The only one I kind of liked was the Norton with the JPS inspired paint job and it's only the paint job that attracts me.
