Royal Enfield Himalayan...... Well they used to be British, and there isnt a forum for Indian!

Bought this Himalayan in January, I agree not everyone's cup of tea but bought it as I don't want to wreck my 1290 R in the winter months. (and shitty potholed slurry filled Kernow roads!)
2020 Euro4 Spec "Lake Blue" with ABS. Bought the Adventure version with extras for a very reasonable £4899 Cornish pounds.....Ooooo....rrr.

Not a powerhouse 24.5 Bhp, but designed to travel most places without fuss.
Great I thought, cheap runaround, cheap to run........ not spending any money it, like we all do on addons. You know we all do!
C'mon you know its true, we've all done it!

Wrong!

Great I thought, no more money!

Wrong.

LED Headlamp
Handlebar re-locator clamps
Booster plug
Ambient temp sensor extender cable
Mudguard raising spacers
Adjustable brake / clutch levers
Rear tyre hugger
Stainless oil cooler guard
Air injection delete kit ( I hate anything Euro4. EVAP unit is coming off as well)
GRMoto slip on exhaust. (My excuse it saves 3kg in weight over the stock can)
Antigravity Lithium battery ( I thought the box was empty.... it weighs feck all). Got one on the 1290 and it spins the motor feckin fast!

I must be mad, tooooo much time and ££££'s on my hands.

Err Indoors hasn't a clue about my bank account.
Boys and their toys eh?

Watch this space for the ongoing build!

Edit: The original panniers have been stored with the feckin topbox. What made me buy a TB, I'll never know

Spend another £19 today. The Indian OEM pads are not great.
Most RE forums rate these as a better option....... Yet another job to do. Quick one for a change!
Good choice, I use them myself and have had no problems
By the way there was a brake recall from Enfield last year for the 650's and the Himalayan was yours part of that? it was instigated by the UK due to bad weather corrosion

Well just completed close to 1000 (essential) miles over the last 6 weeks, had the first service with the valve check. So now time to start fitting the new shiny upgrade bits.
Decided to do it in 2 stages. Easy fit and fiddly electrical
Easy fit.
Adjustable brake levers.
Out with the old.

In with the new.

Rear hugger aka "shit deflector".

Stainless oil cooler. The original was cheap n cheerful.
DSCF2618.JPGDSCF2619.JPG

Bar "relocator" set. 30mm lift and 20mm closer to me, much more comfortable off road.
DSCF2700.JPGDSCF2702.JPG

Denali mini sound bomb. The original horn was weak!

Continued on next post as photo limit reached!

Getting rid of heavy Indian quiet exhaust.
Off with the old.

On with the new GR Moto can. Weighs a 20% of the original. Sounds great (even with the DB killer in!)

LED head lamp and stone guard.

Got a new 3mm thick sump guard to fit today. the original 1.5mm one has taken a beating and not fit for purpose!

Electrical mods next!
