One of my former colleagues and a good mate was a Selous Scout. I don’t think he would have recognised the death squad apartheid description because many fellow troopers were Matabele and political affiliations were as much tribal as racial. Mugabe’s Shona death squads were far less choosy about their victims when exacting revenge against those who had fought THEIR terror campaign…..and so it has continued.
Personally I think the badge looks like modernist US para wings and parachuting into action hasn’t been a good idea since Crete or Arnhem.

I think it is still a ridiculous comparison, there are only so many ways you can depict an eagle for a logo and it is not uncommon for regimental badges to have a curved banner/carthouche underneath. These woke wankers just see what they want to see, and want to take offence at everything.

The SCOTS DG eagle depiction is a straight lift from the French one taken at Waterloo by Charles Ewart of the Scots Greys (Royal North British Dragoons) as they then were.
