BBC News - Lloyd's of London fines insurer Atrium over initiation games
There are real issues with some City cultures. Have you ever considered the extent to which the risk taking and financial crash were the direct results of bonuses getting blown on coke snorting binges? They believed their own invincibility. It hasn't gone away and there is clearly a problem inside the HoC too.

BBC News - Parents smacking children becomes illegal in Wales

Hands up who got "smacked" when they disobeyed their parents & teachers etc etc.
Also, hands up who thought it taught them that not doing whatever you like, whenever you like. And having zero respect for any kind of authority. Had consequences that taught you about the way the real world functions. Or was that the old "real world"? 🤔

I honestly don't get why such a law was deemed to be a sensible move? Some kids are already out of control. The last thing they need is their parents not being able to discipline them FFS! 😏

I'm proud to be part of the generation that got board rubbers chucked at them for being disruptive in class. And slapped about a bit at home for disobedience.
It seemed acceptable then, & it still does.

Being told that X, Y & Z were coming my way if I didn't behave.
Then X, Y & Z arriving immediately after I ignored the warning. Taught me there were consequences to my actions. It ain't rocket science is it 🙂

I feel the same about capital punishment lost count of the reoffenders I saw return on a second and third seperate conviction for murder.

My daughters got smacked. One even got smacked twice. Stopped her trying to run into the road.
