Is she a Greyhound or a lurcher? She has the same shaped head as my lurcher. He's a rescue had the rascal 10 years at xmas Best family dog I've ever owned great with my grand kids and very protective of them . Grey hound or Lurcher there is a site called lurcher link if she's your first sight hound it's a mine of usefull help and info. even though i'd had 3 GSDs and a border collie all from pups Sight Hounds are a differant kettle of fish to train but so worth the extra effort just watch out for zooomies when they get excited or want to play.

We had two greyhounds previously, I had a couple of shepherd's before my first greyhound and yes they are very different. She is a greyhound but only small only just 2 years old. Came over from Ireland where she had four races needs a bit of TLC.

Sorry to hear of yer loss @smib it ain't easy. Christ we lost three last year, a fifteen year old Westie, ten year old Yorkie and 8 year old Spinone.

We said no more dogs after the Yorkie died and the Spinone was put to sleep (cancer) but, before the old Westie shuffled of (Blind and Deaf for a year or more before he decided he wasn't going to stick around any longer) the wife decided she 'needed' another dog and we got the wee Chihuahua. Best thing we've ever bought and she is a brilliant wee dog.

My wife said she didn't want another dog after the last one was put to sleep, Brum was his name but she loves our new greyhound Star, and she has settled in brilliantly no mess but likes toilet rolls. So give it time smib and you may change your mind when you are ready.
