There are two possible reasons for that out of the blue gift Duck.

1) They are poisoned (hire a food taster)
2) She's sucking up to you after you ignored her strop about the Jaaaaaaag purchase. She's realised that you have a mind of your own & won't be controlled by her!

Being honest, theory number 2 is courtesy of Mrs DD. She didn't put it quite as gently but it was basically the same as my version. Her version went..."The horrible bitch has obviously realised that he's grown a pair!"...
