So what frivolous things have you bought lately? Why?

This turned up 5 minutes ago. Booster plug for the RE Himalayan. Euro4 emissions give poor fuelling at low RPM. This will fool the ECU.... Feck EU

NIce.

The regular temp sensor where it resides on the factory build gets heat-soaked by warm air from the engine. Have you relocated it towards the front of the bike yet? (One known issue with the HImalayan!) That will also improve the fuelling as the temperature reading is often over by 10 degrees or so and accurate ambient temperature reading help the ECU get the fuelling mixture right.
TEC are producing a replacement cam shaft for the HImalayan that allow the engine to breathe more efficiently and thus add an extra five ponies into the mix - which gives the extra power so you can fit a 16 tooth rear sprocket to up the cruising speed on the main roads without labouring it or sacrificing low end grunt.

Not that I have been looking at Himalayans at all, you understand!!!! (Nor have I costed out a shit list of things I would do to one should I end up with one in the garage.... much.)

I love them, so much fun in the garden, all "freeze raghead or you're going down" Ashbita and Shabir next door doesn't find it funny, but it's only fun.
Drulov made a semi auto CO2 powered Makarov style air pistol. The trigger sears on the batch we had were so bad that often they would go full auto and put all seven shots out on a single squeeze. Because of the speed of cycling and the nature of expanding gases cooling, it did mean that the first shot was about 2.5 ftlb, and the last about 1.5 - which meant if you started with a head shot you stitched the Bin Laden targetry vertically from eyes to dick height. Because they went full auto they technically became section 5 firearms, so after we'd 'tested them all thoroughly to make sure it wasn't a single failure', we stoned the sears and case hardened them, so the fault went away.

Bought this a few weeks back for a bit of back garden plinking. Dirt cheap and has turned out to be surprisingly accurate at 10 metres.
I do own a couple of rifles but my garden isn't long enough to safely use them.
View attachment 3223This little pistol is great fun and very quiet so not gonna upset the neighbours.
Stick something over the Beeman logo & you could use it to supplement your pension.
Take it too the Post Office & collect everyone's pension! 🙂

As well as the Booster plug I bought a temp sensor extension cable from Hitchcocks.
The idea being as you said, to put both the existing temp sensor, and the booster plug sensor up by the headstock at the front of the bike. Well away from engine heat.
Should get a more realistic ambient temp reading then.....

Watch this space

Edit: TEC Hmmm:unsure: I once fitted an exhaust made by them on my mates Bonnie.
Fit and finish was atrocious.
Looked like it had been welded by an orangutan on crack!
I'd be very cautious of any revolving part made by that outfit!

I bet it was a @BAD LUCK DUCK not an orangutan.
Easy mistake to make though mate. In the wrong lighting conditions, Duck could easily be mistaken for an orangutan. Apart from his lack of orange fur 😉

I rather believe that they outsource the machining to professionals for the manufacture of those. edit: S&S make them.

I unwittingly bought a Tec exhaust, which I now regret but can’t be arsed to change. They’re shite, although they sound ok.

I have just ordered a service kit for my linear air pump. It might just be a load of shit and piss to you but to me it’s a matter of life and death. Without pumped air my aerobic bacteria will die and things will get septic. I like to keep my outflow sweet.

Is that too frivolous?

My bits arrived late last night and were immediately fitted and the pump fired up. There was an audible gasp from my sewage treatment plant as all those aerobic bacteria sucked in fresh air and shouted how much they had been gagging for it. It’s not a job I ever considered.
