So what frivolous things have you bought lately? Why?

I "think" I have a set of YSS shocks for a modern Bonnie? Not sure if there's any difference between the shocks for a standard Bonnie & those for the T100?
865 Bonnies:

  • Bonneville America/Speedmaster stock length: 320mm
  • Standard/T100 Bonneville stock length: 340mm
  • Thruxton & Scrambler stock length: 360mm
SE std is 330mm but 340mm fits with imperceptible difference in ride height and caster angle.

When I get home I'll dig them out & have a measure up.
@Public Enemy was talking about upgrading Annie's shocks.

Are those measurements total length or the distance between the centres of the fixing points?

FYI,my shocks are 350mm @ minimum adjustment,so they’ll adjust at least another + 20mm and together with progressive springs and emulators,it feels like it’s running on rails.
The Thruxton (water cooled) are 384mm as standard I think, sounds like I’m heading in the right direction though - running on rails is what I’m after (y)

As long as the rails are heading in the right direction:D

I bought it from a German online-shop.
But since all that Teutonic squabble might not mean too much to you, I checked out an English site; so this is what I found:

…I paid 100,-€ less though!

Would be some nice equipment for your peasant-army-snipers 🦆
Intriguing and curious as to whether the bolts also are available in a less gay pride colour..The flights on the bolt are a bit LGBT otherwise it looks great ...let us know how you get on with it.👍🦆

You are right; they do look pretty gay…
But as a very positive side-effect (and probably even intended this way) it is much easier to retrieve a stray arrow in the forest and thickets. Believe me, if they used camo-colors, you‘d be losing bolts quickly and those carbon thingies are quite costly…

Furthermore: one of the „feathers“ is in a different color to indicate which way you have to insert it into the crossbow!

On the other side: I am not using them for big-game-hunting. And looking at them colors, you might as well attach little bells to your boots 🤣

The Q is. What would you use if you heard a noise downstairs - for you old cunts the other side of the bungalow - in self defence whilst keeping within the law.
I‘d switch on the radio to ‚Deutsche Welle‘ and a speech by Merkel.
That should scare any decent burglar shitless…

And I think that‘s the only thing next to calling 110 being within the law… 🥺

Are you familiar with the law on self defence? You should aim to show initial reluctance until cornered and then only use proportionate violence necessary to overcome the immediate threat and once that has receded not to pursue the attack.

I have a hatchet next to the log burner for splitting kindling and my sabre in the bedroom. Deterrence is good! Wave ‘em about a bit!

I have not checked the respective §s
But my guess about what you are allowed to confront a burglar with in Germany is lighting a candle and invite them to a cup of tea. Then discuss the negative moral implications of repossessing previously owned goods from an alien household without confirmed appointment.
Should they meanwhile get bored and stab or shoot you, this most likely would be in selfdefense… 🤪
