Saw this guy in 2005 at the main ZANU PF hotel in Harare - 32 people shook my hand 24 people spat at me

Racism works both ways and is always ugly(y)

He was brilliant though

A black guy I used to work with was initially (& unfairly) suspicious of me being a racist. Purely based on looks alone! 🙄

It turned out that he was a massive fan of all sorts of music. But mainly black music.
After a chat instigated by myself about "Burning Spear" "Yellowman" & "Steel Pulse" etc etc.
We became mates, & he'll now VERY reluctantly admit that you should never judge a book by its cover! 😉

Too right mate you can never judge a book by it’s cover(y)

Most people here will never experience racism and I hope that continues, the worst I had was in Harare being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon at 2 am and 5 ‘police’ with truncheons out threatening me and hitting my Ugandan mate, being driven down dark back roads - fortunately for us our support vehicle followed and upon paying the required bribe we were freed All because I was white British and Zimbabwe government hate us!

I get racism I’ve endured itl, its ugly and I hate it in any form (y)

Well this may bring the musical tone down a bit. Mrs Public Enemy and myself went to see Sweet at The Picturedrome in Holmfirth last night. They were excellent, and even 72 year old Andy Scott can still sing. The rest of the band have changed over the years but they still sound like they did back in the seventies. Which is either a god or a bad thing depending on your view.
Anyway, I'm off to play "Little Willy"
