War with China/Russia

Is our task force going to sail into the disputed 12 mile boundary or stick to the shipping lanes, and if the latter, what was the point?
And if the former what’s the likely outcome??

Is this going to get ugly, quickly??

Our area of interest [USA too] has shifted to the far east instead of european based, we do more deployments in that area and are sending Naval vessels for long term deployments into the area, I don't think we are pushing our luck just sailing in what is deemed as international waters , "BUT" China has it's eyes on that area and this is where the problems will arise

The Type 45s are all getting/have been fixed….. the fundamental problem is well understood and goes back to deficient generators on first build.

More recently the comms suites and missiles have been upgraded. Don’t talk them down. They are highly complex but the best air defence vessel bar none; just too few. Not really comparable with US ships because the Arleigh Burke class is a hybrid destroye/frigate in RN terms while we split the air defence and anti submarine as primary roles.

The problem with poking the Chinese is that they don't think the same as Westerners. They will attack without warning and believe that they were right to do so and damn the consequences. They don't do compromise.
They are more pragmatic than that. The real danger is a gung ho individual making a mistake. That and internal dissent. The CCP is nothing like as secure as they portray. Foreign adventures are a standard ploy to unite an unhappy nation. Argentina…….

What about them? It’s a bit of a stretch to call them 4th Gen. The era of Biggles dog fighting is over unless something has gone badly wrong. The whole point of F35 is to knife in the back with F22 and Typhoons if it gets a bit more close and personal. All of the ‘measuring’ that goes on between armchair ‘experts‘ fails to appreciate that information dominance means a meshing of know how and electronics far more than platform gymnastics. Most engagements on our terms should be beyond visual range without them even knowing we are there or where.

Let’s hope it remains theoretical ……

As a nation we are nothing but as a coalition of forces with the US then we have the might

Apparently Argentina is trying to buy fighter interceptors because other South American Country’s have fighters and bombers and Argentina has no defence against them.
UK won’t let any ‘western’ Countries sell arms to them, they’re bankrupt anyway, but China is looking at supplying them JF17’s and apparently have made a deal….
Preparing for another pop at the Falklands??

"China has recently embarked on a major uplift in its nuclear ballistic missile arsenal, building new launch silos in the remote Xinjiang region. It has also been developing Hypersonic Glide Vehicles, high-velocity missiles that can reach speeds of up to eight times the speed of sound and which have been dubbed "carrier killers"."

Agree with that.

They will want to 'unify' the country by the centenary of CCP rule - 2048, so expect Taiwan to be invaded by then.

The main thing that could bring it earlier is internal strife due to slowing economic growth - foreign adventures being a useful distraction.
