Got this in the post today.

Very glossy card, obviously a one off print, reminding us the dogs annual boosters are due.

No forking wonder they charge the way they do. (look on channel 5, the Highland vet... That's them)

Charges... Well here's an example. There's an old lady in the village, in her 80's, quite frail, had cancer... She had a cat, and the cat wasn't looking well. So she rings the vet... She can't get up to the vets, so the vet comes to her on a call out. £110 for the call out.

Can't decide what's up with the cat (we know it's dying, don't we... Its 14 Ffs) so take cat to surgery and put it in intensive care for 3 days, at £90 a day. Give it a neurological scan, £140. Phone call, £20, your cat is beyond help, we'll have to put it down." £90. Fortunately her daughter is by now up from lunnon area, and can collect the cat for burial at home, or it would have been another £100 for cremation.

So... £630 to put a cat to sleep, in effect. Of course, the old dear has pet insurance, but that's not the point is it? Robbing bastards. Not just them... ALL vets from what I can see.

Grouchy today, canst tell?

Years ago, when in my early 20's, I was working in the woods, thinning trees.... steep bank, slipped and fell, and managed to dislocate my shoulder on the way down. Which hurt. On my own, middle of nowhere... Well, I put it back in. That hurt too. Now, you may recall me saying the problems I've been having with loss of feeling in the right hand, consultant says it's carpal tunnel etc... They got annoyed when I said it wasn't.

Today I'm like the hunchback of notre dame, can't move my head, arm is dead, big lump of knotted muscle over the shoulder joint. Mrs Big Sandy has slapped the deep heat on it, and has actually pushed the knot back in so the lump has gone. But it's still bloody painful. Can't ride, can't turn my head, got blinding headache too. Not as bad now its been given the deep heat treatment...

Told the quack it wasn't carpal tunnel. Why don't they listen?

You're lucky they didn't tell you it's earache .. My missus has been walking around like she shit herself or has a wooden leg,She's getting a lot of pain in her knee, Couldn't get to see a doctor..they rang her and told her a physio would ring her with some exercises to do,Unless you're dying at their door they don't want to know FFS

My layman's opinion is like yours @Big Sandy nothing to do with Carpal Tunnel. Sounds like Brachial Plexus in your shoulder to me. I get the same only in both hands. Tingling and numbness. They want it to be carpal tunnel because that way they can refer you to have it done. A ten minute op, several weeks of recovery and weakened grip in your hand but they don't give a toss because it gets you out of their hair for a while. Next they go for the Ulnar nerve and mess you about some more and then they look at your shoulders and tell you that it is, after all, the Brachial Plexus and there's nothing they can do about that. They tried to send me for Carpal Tunnel surgery but I told them to get stuffed as the missus has had it on both hands and it did nothing for her and then they wanted to go for the Ulnar nerves but she took the wise choice and said no to it. Better to put up with the problem than let the quacks screw you about.

In 1997 I jumped out of a Council lorry and got this searing pain in my right leg and I couldn't put any weight on it. Doc diagnosed Sciatica and signed me off work for four weeks. I went to the doctors, on my bike of the time which was a Kawasaki LTD440. When I went in I had the following conversation with the idiot medico.

Doc - I know what has caused it!
Me - OK what then?
Doc - It's being hunched over on your motorbike!
Me - But I don't hunch over, my bike has a sit up and beg riding position.
Doc - I'm telling you it's your motorcycle
Me - So the fact that I had no pain when I was in the lorry and had a searing pain when I jumped down has nothing to do with it?
Doc - I'm telling you it's riding your motorcycle
Me - Feck off you muppet (followed by me walking out of his surgery)

That 'GP' wasn't fit to treat animals!

I've had similar symptoms but it was diagnosed by a physio as knotted neck and shoulder muscles putting pressure on the nerve.
had some physio but despite it looking like a deluxe sex toy I can recommend getting one of these..
Esp as even paying for physio would involve a ballache level of travel for you.
I agree with @MartytheMartian , sounds muscular to me.

And old fucking age, obv.
