No idea why, it isn't much different to metalwork
However, I predict the neighbours will be learning several new swear words

Know the feeling mate. I *can* do woodwork and have mates who are joiners that I've helped on jobs in the past so made box sashes, used very big boy woodworking tools but it's a fucking dark art.

I hear you @DD67 Wood is bizarre stuff. I can get on with metal plastic and just about anything else, even stone but wood always takes the piss out of me. I can measure a thousand times, check my plans, check again, measure another thousand times, cut and end up miles out! I swear the feckin' stuff reacts to the cut by shrinking or warping out of shape.

All it'll consist of is joining three separate but identical items of furniture together to make one.
Then strengthen the back panels to enable me to suspend the whole lot off the ground to clear the skirting board.
Before breaking the revised/joined items back into individual items. Then getting them to sit at the same height on a wall in the living room.

What could possibly go wrong?

Hand tools, a small angle grinder, a Dremel & a gas axe.
You'd understand the less than sharp lines on the piston design. If you saw it with a fire going inside it Mick.
