I read an interview with one of the gay pride organisers. He said their aim was to get people to not notice, care about or mention the sexual orientation of other people (not his exact words)Why can't these people just go about their business without this ridiculous display?
Pride in London: More than a million attend 'biggest ever parade'
More than a million people packed London for Pride's 50th anniversary, the mayor's office says.www.bbc.co.uk
Unfortunately mate, us old fuckers are the last of the breed!Maybe in a few years there will be 'straight pride' marches for the remaining minority who can't adapt to the new world.
Well self evidently onehelluvalot were of the Woke persuasion because it's generally accepted from self declared census results that the LGB population is about 2% with the TI crew a noisy but tiny fraction of 1%. There are quite a few with 'Look at me Mummy' gene. Khan't for starters!I wonder how many of them were genuinely Gay people wanting to demonstrate their 'emancipation' as it were and how many were 'fag hags' as I believe the term is, wanting to take part and be considered part of the wonderful new 'inclusive' scene.

I agree but it's the Luvvies that most p*** me orf . Lorraine Kelly being there to be seen etc., The flip side of the coin is that such an overt display of heterosexuality would likely offend normal standards of public decency. It's the double standards, hypocrisy and exceptionalism in most of these 'causes' that grips my . It's all just a bit 'in your face'They refused to let you take part in THAT outfit because it was too risqué again, eh?
Personally, I've no problem with this at all - I'm no more bothered than I am by any other group taking to the street for a celebration, whether its the Queen's Jubilee, Nottinghill Carnival, Ldn to Brighton Bike or Car runs, etc.
Agree, it probably gets more media attention than it deserves, but essentially a bit of harmless fun in the sun.

That's the irony of it all. There are figures prominent in public life who seem to think we don't know when 95%+ would much rather they lived happier more fulfilled lives out in the open. Our opinion of them isn't based on how they get their rocks or frocks off. I do however think there is an over representation in politics that they are nervous about.I read an interview with one of the gay pride organisers. As far as I'm concerned, 95% of society is already at that stage & has been for years.

As a wise friend of mine recently said in response to this video...That's the irony of it all. Totally agree Jez, how can anyone be accepted as an equal who needs to stand out and be conspicuously differentAs a wise friend of mine recently said in response to this video...
..."All these minority groups are the same, they despise "normal" but desperately seek their ways to be regarded as normal. They want to be accepted, but when they are ignored and don't get constant attention, they start to scream and shout because they want to be special and the centre of attention "...
I reckon that applies to the more vocal elements of the trans community, BLM & social justice warriors etc etc.
There used to be a phrase bandied around in the days of certain pubs refusing service if you turned up on a bike...Totally agree Jez, how can anyone be accepted as an equal who needs to stand out and be conspicuously different
Their narrative is a complete oxymoron
And LGBTQ+ are accepted and respected by about 95% of us @chasThere used to be a phrase bandied around in the days of certain pubs refusing service if you turned up on a bike...
'Don't expect respect from a society you reject'
That describes my take on it perfectly Nick. And LGBTQ+ are accepted and respected by about 95% of us @chas
Where ever they chose to stick their willies or put in their herbaceous borders is of no concern of mine and has no impact on whether they are a welcome drinking partner or not
However attitude does impact the welcome, and anyone thinking they are ‘special’ because they are ‘different’ and insist they are deserving of preferential treatment isn’t going to get passed the first round
And if they start talking about pronouns they can fuck right off
I keep hearing bollox about pronouns..And LGBTQ+ are accepted and respected by about 95% of us @chas
