What's Boiling Your Pi$$ Today?

Wouldn't bike it around Edinburgh personally, or go about in Edinburgh at all if I can avoid it but I have seen a number of reports recently online of tourist's bikes being stolen, run around and then set on fire in Edinburgh and it seems that chances are, if you leave your bike in Edinburgh for five minutes it will be nicked. Just saw this article come up on me news feed and thought I'd share it for anyone even contemplating going near the shithole that Edinburgh is now.

My younger brother lives in Dalkieth. Thank you for another compelling reason never to visit.

I am in the process of selling my BMW NineT /5…

I don’t know about G.B., but over here, the world definitely has moved on (to the worst) since my last time trying to sell anything on the internet.

You get loads of phishing-mails or messages from folks that try to rip you off in more ways, than my personal imagination could ever conjure up…🙄

And those feckers plunder along with a self-sufficient arrogance that is prone to get you into a barfing-frenzy…
Translated, one of their mails would look like this: „I want buy these bike. Is it still sold? Whats your lastest price, tell me now. Write to poohead@gmail.com🤮

And you wait and wait for a NORMAL and decent person to show any interest. Really unnerving, this.

I needed a little rant 😝

Enjoy summer, mates!

Are you replacing it with a nice new toy?
No mate, one bike less... It is the same as with watches or sweaters: In the end you have that favorite one that you use all the time while the rest sits around gathering dust.
The NineT is a great bike. But the ‚saddle‘ is not the most comfortable one and the seating position (slightly bent forward) gave me an aching neck after a while.
Guess, I am getting too old for ’sporty‘ 😝 Have to stick to tractors and the like… (Trike, I see you on the horizon 🤪 Just kidding.)

I agree 100% mate.
The other thing I've noticed recently is the arrogance of a lot of potential buyers. They seem to think that in the current financial climate. Anyone with a few grand of spare cash is some kinda God 🙄

I couldn't bear the idea of entertaining the types of idiots you both described when selling my Monster, so I used the Superbike Factory, they offered me a very realistic price which was probably what I could have expected from a private sale. Got a quoted price on Sunday, and booked for collection on Tuesday with the money in my account before the bike left.

The guy collecting the bike was telling me that they have 43 guys travelling around the country picking up bikes, and that they sold about 3000 bikes in March this year. Apparently they are buying almost anything these days, even bikes about 20 years old.

Good for you! 👍🏼
The guys over here who buy to sell usually offer 30% less than the „privat market“ would allow. If I urgently needed some cash, I might even consider this, but I am not in a hurry and so I decided to endure the snotheads… 😋

Yes I was expecting an insulting offer, but was pleasantly surprised, I'm guessing that if they don't need to do any work on the bike for resale then their mark-up isn't great, maybe relying on quantity and small profit quick return 🤔

I also sold my Bobber to them a few years ago, and got a good/fair price for that too. Although they did take the piss with an insulting offer for my Street Triple when I was selling that about a year ago, which I ended up selling privately for more than I brought it for a couple of years previously.

I can't really complain about Superbike factory although I've only used them as a buyer. My Mairi the Sky Blue Bonnie came to me from them although she was originally green and silver. Three and a half grand with a set of rough but serviceable Givi panniers, Triumph windscreen, Tors Exhausts, full T100 upgrades, not a spot of rust anywhere, sixteen thousand on the clocks, fresh MOT, Motobatt battery and rectifier. Rougher 2001 Bonnie's were changing hands for more on the private sales market and I reckon she was priced so low that people thought there must be something wrong with her and so she sat in their internet showroom until I came along and took a punt on her looking for a bike I could 'scramble'. When she arrived I couldn't bear to scramble her as she was simply too nice.

When I sold my Thai bonnie I got the scammers coming on with 'I'm offshore right now but I will Paypal you the money and send a courier to pick up the bike for my Daughters birthday' which is apparently a standard recognised scam. I'm told that they Paypal the money, collect all the paperwok, export the bike and then claim they've been robbed and demand a refund through Paypal.

At the current crazy prices that's only approx 17ltrs.
There is a small independent on the road north to Bude, owned by a corner shop Joe. He is charging £2.07 for diesel and £2.01 for unleaded. Loads of shit on local feacesbook slating him as a thieving fecker. Wouldn't be surprised if opens up one morning to find his plate glass windows done in....
"Shit appens innit" 🤣🤣
