I think you've hit the nail right on the head @Doc Strange not only with the anti-Monarchists but also with the Animal Rebellion, Extinction Rebellion protestors too. They are really getting a kick out of destroying stuff and disrupting other people's lives as long as they get their mugs in the press and they know that the Police will protect them rather than punish them. They are the true anti-social element in our modern, well what's left of it anyway, society.

Anti-monarchist demonstrators!

And I say that as a chippy republican anarchist/libertarian!

Whatever you think of the monarchy or republicanism, now you should just respect that others are hurting and pipe down - they aren't promoting their opinions, they're harming them.

It's all just 'look at me' - tossers!

DS
They'll all be at work on Monday as a protest, obv ;)

Should be eating a Burger at Dom's Bike Stop near Leominster .. But bike is due its valve clearance service on Tuesday and don't want to go over the 6000 miles specified, So instead of a nice 380 mile ride I'm stuck at home with a wife thats full of piss me-off-ness today and couple of ungrateful sponging sons.....FFS get me out of hear :mad::mad:

The Royal Enfield importer is a stinker for trying to avoid warranty claims, I was told to be as close to the mileage as possible, Also as its the service with the valve clearances I want it done as they do seem to tighten up a bit...hopefully it will all settle down over the next few months and I will probably ease up on the paranoia and service it every 6 months
People have been booking in for the first service (the most critical) and finding that their dealer can't do it for a couple of weeks as fully booked (popular bikes these Enfields 😁) some have carried on riding and put 5/6/700 miles on with the running in oil still in...it should be changed at 300 miles.....maybe I just worry too much

I do agree that they seem to be popular bikes @half ton I just bought myself another Iron Barrel after flogging some of the family silver and it cost me two grand in mint low miles nick with a couple of tasteful mods done. The bike had been taken in by a dealer in Mitcham in p/Ex for a new 350. The price of the oldies is falling and a lot of it seems to be due to Enfield fans trading in or trying to sell so they can buy. Personally I'm loving the old one that I've got. It's loud as feck (the sound reminds me of those wee dumper trucks that were on every building site back in the seventies and eighties (are they still around as I haven't seen one in donkey's years), it vibrates like a pneumatic drill, drinks oil and will only do an estimated (speedo goes mental over sixty or so) eighty or so mph and has skinny wee tyres but it is really fun for some odd reason. Just went out for a wee blast this afteroon to check that my tail light assembly would behave itself and really enjoyed throwing it around. Hanging out of the saddle at seventy going around the bends like I was at the TT in 1950. At one point I freaked because I was crouched down over the tank going flat out around a bend when Police came the other way then I realised that 'flat out' wasn't exactly that far over the limit! :ROFLMAO:

When the reviews said the new 350's were way smoother than the old one's that put me right off them as I wanted them to sound like an old Lewis gun and loosen my fillings.

Is the 'Importer' for Royal Enfield these days not actually part of Royal Enfield themselves? I did read somewhere recently that a chap had the camshaft on his 650 interceptor snap and Royal Enfield were trying their damndest to avoid having to fix it under warranty. That ain't good if one of the main reasons for buying new is to get the Warranty. Give me old bangers any day.

Gratuitous shot of the Bullet while I was out today showing off my homemade tailtidy. This spot where the photo was taken by the way was apparently where some chap called Barry was killed off in something called Eastenders in 2004. There is a sticker on the black and white bollard stating this fact. If anyone is passing and wishes to pay their respects to this fellow it's a passing place just as you crest the first hill on the road leading from the Rest and Be Thankful to the village of Lochgoilhead (My village).

Cheers @Don the Don I was kind of worried about the reliability of the original Bullets and thinking about going for a later EFi model but, in the end up I decided that I wanted another of the old bangers but this one is either going to be a 'gentleman's ride' or turned into an Army style bike but either way it will be sit up and beg for pottering around. The conclusion I came to was that, if I want a Brit bike without having to pay serious money for a good one and then worrying about spares and keeping it nice, the Indian Iron barrel bullets are quite simply the only game in town and the later EFi models may be smoother, more reliable and better built but they are not really that close to the 'real McCoy' the same way my Hinckley Bonnie's are beautiful machines but apart from styling, and dimensions they aren't really any relation to a 1959 Bonneville.

Seems the Enfield is fitting exactly what you wanted from it, an 'immersive experience' to ride.
