Bastards why not just hand it to a rescue. MY dog found another lrurcher tied to a fence down the fields where we go for his exercise, took it home fed it over night and with the photos on my phone handed him in to a rescue I used to volenteer at. It soon found another home.

Biggest problem with the Met and the Police in general is not that they are racist or homophobic but rather that they are shite and rotten. Definitely not the Good Guys and I doubt they ever really were. Sure there are the occasional one's who are genuinely decent folk but a lot of them are as bad as the crooks if not worse.

That's the nub of it. Crap leadership begets crap individuals. They mostly don't intend to be crap and won't enjoy the job either. Pride and enforcing standards can turn them around. I've seen it all too often in a green suit where the senior element see their subordinates as a vehicle for their own promotion and it turns to rat for all.

The problem is that I've known a few ordinary coppers, some were good guys and some were pretty bad guys. One of the good guys I knew was really decent and honest but the one thing you could never do around him was criticise the Police force as that got his hackles up even though he knew himself that there were bad apples in the barrel. I think that psychologically he had the knee jerk reaction that by criticising one you criticised the whole, a bit like the catholic church and the way it protected paedo's in order to try and protect the overall reputation of the church itself. When it comes to bad apples I have been on the receiving end as well, one sergeant arrested me after I was attacked by a 'lady' in the street as I was heading home from a night out. The idiot automatically assumed that the big six foot three guy must have been the real aggressor and when he interviewed me he simply didn't want to hear anything that didn't correspond with what he had decided was the case. Christ the officer on the desk apologised to me about my treatment when he let me out the next morning and it seemed that they were all scared of the little oik. The wee sergeant was the spitting image of Captain Mannering and just as pompous a little twat to boot.

My sister and b-i-l were Met, and I've known plenty of decent coppers. I've also met quite a few arsehole coppers, and heard from decent coppers about arsehole ones.

Part of the issue is a culture where you don't grass on your own, but I get that and would be just the same.

But as @Steve 998cc said, the real problem is management and political interference.

It's certainly not a job I'd have wanted to do - anything dealing with the public is a 'mare!

I've started getting adverts on feacesbook about CTCL so I clicked on one and it seems we are now being informed about cutaneous T cell Lymphoma which is a blood based disease involving T cells ......hhhhmmmm now where have I been hearing about those little fellas before. I suppose it must be increasing for it to start appearing in ads.

I will say I'm only guessing as I stopped reading after a few lines as I get pissed off very easily

I agree Don but I have no friends on there I just use it for bike pages and camping etc, It's just a feckin pain with all the bloody ads that keep appearing, But I do know where to get bargain surgical stockings and shit loads of weight loss potions and mega powerful vitamin supplements .... the best ones are the dog food ads £95 for a bag of healthy dog grub ....... I feckin cry when I shell out £40 for a 12kg bag of food for my pup ( 9yr old pup )

( £63 for the same at local supplier) He's just over 10 we got him from a rescue when he was 10months been on Burgesses since then still fit and catches rabbits on a flat out, peddle to the metal run he's not really got the idea though he never kills them just lets them go again.

I met an award winning Rottweiler breeder a few years ago who also ran a boarding kennels, she used to feed Burgess Supadog to all her own Rotties and any boarders who didn't bring their own food. She swore by it and said that it had added advantage of not upsetting the stomachs of any boarders, thus making kennel cleaning easier. I used it for a couple of years to feed my Labrador and Staffie. I only stopped using it because my Staffie had a problem with fur loss which the vet was unable to diagnose for two years, and I was trying everything including switching foods, but it was eventually diagnosed that my Staffie had Cushing's disease and nothing to do with food allergy/intolerance. Burgess Supadog can easily be found for under £25 for 15kg.

I used to feed our dogs Wagg Worker at only approximately £11 for 17kg (apparently it's VAT exempt because it's intended for working dogs)

One scoop of that & half a can of wet dog food each per day. They were both fit/healthy & made it to a ripe old age. Lilly was nearly 15yrs old
