OK Young Un, I’ll pile in too as I’m 13 lucky months older. Told you already, get a pension forecast and deny them the opportunity to short change your first payment! Destroys the pleasure of reminding taxpayers. 😎
Can you explain that a little further? I'll be 66 in April, having done the extra year, albeit part time. How do they short change the first payment? Apologies if you've said this elsewhere and I've missed it.

My taste in whisky is fairly specific. Like all tastes it’s highly personal so I quite understand the ‘dislikers’.

I am no fan of highly peated smoky Islay whisky. It’s a style that markets well - make of that what you will! There is endless hoo-ha about whisky/which I put in the same vomit bucket as endless yatter about 22 blokes hoofing a ball around a ‘park’ 🙄. You make beer, you distill the stuff a few times and then park it in an old wine/Sherry/port barrel for a few years. Job done.....unless you disappear up your own backside discussing still shapes, heating methods and all the wee nuances that make for subtle flavour variations.

I know what you mean about the TCP but, for me, the sweet spot is a Speyside malt which are generally very smooth. Tasting notes? Marketing bollox.

You like what you like/don’t like. No right or wrong. End of. Just don’t get ripped off by marketing cons pretending grain whisky (cheaper because the barley isn’t pre-sprouted to increase sugar content) or cheaper non aged malt (because you can’t make stuff now to meet demand and sell it as 10+ yrs old priced on scarcity). Haig in blue bottles 🤣

With pleasure.

You basically get a full pension with 35+ yrs of NI Contributions. Any less any you lose pro rata. The bastards seem to reckon me at about 25 yrs but my NI Record says otherwise. You can check your own entitlement online. I wrote immediately but Covid holidays still being taken so I am £50pw light and no reply......yet.

Thanks for that. I've just got the forecast, saying £175 per week which I believe to be the full amount. Hope you get yours sorted soon enough.

I assume you haven't tried it.
If you had, you'd see why I recommend it 😉

As someone who saw the light years ago regarding over priced scotch V's far cheaper & waaaaay superior Irish whiskey. I'd have thought my recommendation of that Haig would carry some weight. Even with you 🧐
You have irreparably damaged your taste buds. Quite beyond help. Sad really. 😏

I'd be totally f#cked if I have to give up work...Will never be able to retire..My best hope is to die at an early age...Hopefully a massive heart attack whilst doing something with my bike or on the field's with my two girls playing fetch....

Well done breaking into the system. I tried 4 times and failed on security questions. Interesting that they know who Iam when robbing me of taxes. Bunch of thieving cunts.
They don't make it easy. By the time I'd scratched my marks on the cave wall they timed me out and I had to start again, twice.
