Apparently, if his sentence hadn't have been suspended. A by-election could have been called. And labour know they'd have lost that seat to Reform.
It boils down to corruption, two-tier justice! And as @Scrappy said, they are laughing at us.

I believe the sentence suspended or not makes no difference, if 10% of his constituents ask for a recall then there will be a by election.
It happened in Peterborough when a Labour MP was on tag.

I used to get a good hiding from my Dad, I still got in to trouble. I started off slaping my boys probably because it's what my dad did but stopped doing it as it didn't feel right. Instead they would have things like PlayStation taken off them etc. Both lads never got in to any trouble with the law, never brought any trouble home and have always been in work since leaving school, ones 30 the other 28.
It's an individual choice, I chose not to, tone of voice and a look was enough.
