Just back from that climate change talk.
A better description would be a climate change activists recruitment drive.
On the whole they were a decent bunch. But there were a few delusional, leftie bed wetters.
After listening to 90 mins of propaganda inc one lady who pretended to be fighting back tears whilst talking about the civil rights movement in the USA. It was sooo obviously false & if they are comparing their pi$$ ant movement with the civil rights movement. I'd say that's stolen valour!
One guy was attempting to impress us with tales of being arrested more than 10 times, doing jail time & currently wearing an electronic tag
We were asked to split up into small groups to discuss the evening. I got my opportunity to tell Mr Electronic Tag that I thought he considered the arrests & tag etc as badges of honour. And did his fellow middle class protesters invite him to more dinner parties as a result?
He didn't like it but he was gracious enough to reply after requesting time to think how to answer.
He then asked our small group..."Would you be willing to get arrested?"...
Not..."Would you be willing to take part in a demonstration that could get you arrested?"...
I picked him up on that & he said he could have worded it more appropriately. Too f#ckin right he could. But I honestly think that this evening was a recruitment drive. Obviously they need cannon fodder to get themselves arrested in order to make the newspapers/TV.
In short I listened to their propaganda. They listened to what I had to say. We even managed to have a few laughs along the way. Mainly when I suggested that a female in her 20's got herself into the kitchen & made us all a cuppa. Admittedly that was designed to get either a bad reaction or provoke a laugh?
She found it funny & even went a bit giggly & blushed. I bet such jovial misogyny was a totally new experience. Yet she didn't react badly at all.
Is it possible that women still like men to be men?
