He's been doing it for months.. Annoying as fk.
We had a black lab many years ago and he picked up a bone fragment somewhere,it got lodged in his throat vet had to haul it out, the smacking /chomping noises could be something small wedged at the back or between his teeth,Worth having a close look as vets aint cheap if it gets worse.
from a concerned pet owner ;)

I've got my Lucher insured £51a month they are the dearest dog to insure and not even peddigree . Good job he is, he's cost the insurance company £2700 so far £2300 when he had a fight with a Transit van and lost, £250 when he was badly bitten by a Jackrussell, The Jackrussell was put down after further attacks on other dogs. £200 for a black thorn to be removed from between his ribs when he went barreling through black thorn hedge.

One for you cat lovers.

The bosses Mum and Dad have recently found out due to ongoing medical issues - and at a considerable cost to us - they've both contracted asthma, and that's why their breathing has become laboured etc

So tonight/tomorrow, all the cats (6+) in the home area are to be bagged and drowned.

Sad really but that's how they deal with things over there. You should see what they do to criminals. :)

'Over there'? Is that Ireland? The wifes mother and her family came from Donegal and apparently that is the normal way to deal with excess pets in those benighted parts. As for criminals in Ireland well, they send them over here to tarmac driveways and the like. No joke the wife talked with me about the place like it was paradise (Her Gran, who brought her up, would take her over to live in the cottage she owned there for the summer months) but, as the years have gone by she has told me tales about living over there and it sounds like it's the bleedin' land that time forgot. Shittin in the garden, no running water and the people sound like Sawney Bean's family!

I genuinely hope your in-laws are ok.
But surely there's another way to lose the cats?
Can't they drive them 50 miles to a different village?
